View Full Version : Streaming Issue W/Panasonic Viera 2011

I recently upgraded my computer motherboard, cpu, memory. Prior to this event, I had a video network which consisted of the following:

Panasonic Viera 2011
Xbox
WD Live
My PC running Mezzo of course

After the computer upgrade , all devices are streaming fine with exception of the Panasonic Viera. I stream 720 and 1080p mkv files which will stream to the Viera without and transcoding required. I've tried adjusting the media connection to several of the different connection types which appears to not have helped once bit. I have changed the network adapter type from automatic to the specific network adapter which didn't help any either. The 'Allow the device to connect to Mezzmo media server' is checked of course.
For some reason the video simply will not stream. It wants to but the Viera simply isn't receiving the video file fast enough; letting it try to play a file will show a blank screen for five seconds, then a split second of video followed by another 5 seconds of blank screen (choppy video or stuttering?). I have ever tried changing the Device Profile from the Panasonic Viera (2011 model) to the NTSC version which didn't help.

Any ideas?

A few reasons for the stuttering:

Your network may be too slow to match the video bitrate, so your TV cannot play the video in real time. How is your computer and TV connected together on your home network? Ethernet wired? Wireless-N? Other?
Mezzmo may be transcoding your videos on-the-fly but your PC is not able to transcode fast enough for real time playback. When the stuttering occurs, go to the Transcoding pane in Mezzmo. If your video is listed there and is marked in red as being too slow, then this will be the cause. Right-click on the file transcoding in the Transcoding pane and click View FFmpeg Output. Post that here or email it to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
Your videos may have a very high bitrate that is causing your TV to struggle to decode and play them. Right-click on one of the videos in Mezzmo that is stuttering and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Post that information here or email it to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

Thanks for the response Paul.

Please note, that two days ago this setup was working flawlessly. I was able to stream 3d mkv files of around 18gb with no issues.

My network consists of the PC which has a gigabit port, connected to a gigabit router via wired medium. The Panasonic television is using a Zyxell 500mbit powerline adapter.

Thanks for the information. Your network setup is fine and the video information looks fine to stream. Try turning off and on your router - in case the router's firmware is the cause. Try turning off and on your Powerline adapter(s) - in case the adapter's firmware is the cause.

If no better, turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Reproduce the stuttering problem and, when it occurs, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

thanks Paul. Email has been sent with log files. Rebooting all devices didn't help.
