View Full Version : Subtitle Burning

Hello,

Purchased a copy after waiting for the subtitle burning during transcode update. Unfortunately .ass and vobsubs (most likely all types) subtitles from the original .mkv don't seem to be burned into the transcoded file.
.ass will display externally without formatting, displaying the code instead.

Current device is an LG 42LM620T. I have checked all the options in Transcoding Settings and the TV's device setting for subtitles. Currently using the LG TV LE (NTSC) profile, other LG profiles either have same results or bring up an invalid file warning on the device.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Paul

Hi abc,

Once embedded subtitles are extracted, then Mezzmo will use them for burning into your videos.

Right-click on the video and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, go to the Subtitles tab and check that the subtitles are listed. You should see your embedded subtitles listed and also extracted subtitles listed. The extracted subtitles are the embedded subtitles that Mezzmo has automatically extracted from your video file for you. If no extracted subtitles are listed, then the "Auto extract embedded subtitles into cache" checkbox is not checked in the Options dialog (Subtitles -> Advanced page). If not checked, then check this checkbox and then run Maintain Library with the "Update subtitles" checkbox checked. This will auto extract the embedded subtitles for you. You can also manually extract the embedded in the Properties dialog (Subtitles tab) by selecting an embedded subtitle and clicking the "Extract Subtitles" button. More information about how to use subtitles in Mezzmo is at http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/5977-Tutorial-Subtitling-Basics

Regarding your .ass that displays codes, please email us one of the .ass files and we'll try it here with our LG TV. Email it to support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but, I'm having trouble with videos that use .ass subs the video shows up fine but the subs don't. Even though they have been extracted and everything. I have a Samsung un55d7000 if that helps.
