Hey Mezzmo Team.

I copied and pasted this from my other thread. This issue is now happening in Windows 8 64.

Ive recently ran into an issue with your update 3.2.0.0. My network drives continually show on the WDTV Live Hub as 'No media in Folder'. The interesting thing is when I add the network drive (so either the external or internal WDTV drive) first, they seem to be ok, however if I add one of my PC drives, then add the WDTV drive it will show this message.

There are a couple of logs here, just go by the most recent where I only added to folders to my database. The folder Distraction is the one from the internal WDTV Hub that shows the message "No media in Folder" when trying to access it.

I haven't had this issue before, and always update with your releases. I made a log file and will revert back to the last release. Ill attach this file to this post.

Kind regards
Hashy

That's interesting. I've never had that issue with Mezzmo or any Media Streaming software. I've only ever gotten it when accessing the network shares and bypassing "Media Server" altogether. Have you tried setting up your shared network folders with static IP addresses on the hosting PCs?

Hi,

Ive got 4 USB drives running from my PC which hosts Mezzmo and they work fine after adding. However when I add the 2 drives on the WDTV Live Hub (1 internal and 1 external) this is where the issue happens. Ive even tried installing earlier versions that did work but now they return the same error. Hope this helps.

Just an update, I done a clean install of Windows 8 64, I havent installed anything else and Mezzmo 2.6.1.0 is working fine after recreating the database. I almost certain this issue has only risen since 3.2.0.0. I can update to the latest release but only after creating the database on the old version otherwise the problem above happens. I hope this helps.

Hi Hashybot,

Sorry for the delay in answering your post. The logs show that Mezzmo server was not able to access the files in the "Y:\TV Series Complete Hub External\Distraction" folder. The reason will be access permissions. See this FAQ to fix this issue - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/4597-FAQ-Accessing-files-from-external-computers-and-NAS-drives-on-your-home-network. Let us know if still no success.

Ok what I found was that the user name was already set in services 2.6.1.0, but in 3.2.0.0 it was set to local. I'm wondering if this is something you guys can fix? Also every version upto 3.1.1.0 was fine, then 3.2.0.0 was when it started to happen.

Thanks for the reply. :)

Hi Hashybot,

Glad you are up and running now. We did change the user account for Mezzmo server (Windows service) in Mezzmo v3.x. It makes for better starting/stopping and integration with Mezzmo application. The side-effect is that you have to make sure Mezzmo server can access your network drives if access permissions are applied to these network drives. That's where the FAQ helps solve this problem - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/4597-FAQ-Accessing-files-from-external-computers-and-NAS-drives-on-your-home-network.
