I recently made the switch from Windows Media Player DLNA to Mezzmo because of its subtitle support. I have several avi files with external srt files & MKV files with embedded subtitles. These always work perfectly when playing back in WMP locally with VSFilter installed. For some reason, none of my videos (that have subtitles) display subtitles on my LG TV when connected through the Mezzmo server. I've checked the options page & all 3 of the subtitle settings are enabled. I've also double-clicked the video files in the Mezzmo manager to verify correct subtitle files are associated with them by checking the subtitle tab. And for the avi files that have external subtitles I'm also able to double-click the entry to bring up the editor. Everything looks good in the editor (text matches timestamps).

I didn't change any settings in Mezzmo. I installed the software & gave it my video file locations when asked. In order to get subtitles working is there some any setting I have to manually change to get this working?

Hi billy,

Everything sounds OK. When the video streams on your TV, press the Options, Menu or Quick Menu button on your remote control and check the subtitle settings listed on your TV. You may need to select the subtitle first to have it displayed. Also, check the device profile in the Media Devices dialog. You should be using one of the LG TV device profiles for your TV.

If that does not help, then it's best we see a set of logs to make sure Mezzmo is streaming your subtitles to your TV. Turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Stream a video that has an external SRT file and when you do not see any subtitles during playback, stop Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. Also, send us the SRT file for the video and we'll test it here with our LG TV.

Its working! I changed the device profile from the default "LG TV (2013 Models)" to simply "LG TV" and it works ...I also tried "LG TV (2012 Models)" and that didn't work either for my 60LS5700.
I didn't realize I get to use my TVs built in abilities to control subtitles, very cool.
Thanks for your help. I will definitely be purchasing this.

as an added bonus, I'm using the BubbleUPNP app on my tablet & navigation along with response times are much better with Mezzmo server as opposed to the built in "Windows Media Player" server.
