Hi Paul, hi rest of the Support Team,

after the latest update i am having some issues with active playlists.
As in the screenshot attached you can see that only 2 of hundreds of Album artists are in the active playlist called "Artist - Album"
the same active playlist worked fine till the update, now even after maintenance of my library it wont work properly.
as you can see, i even deleted and set it up from the scratch, different titles for the playlist wont Change anything...

any help is appreciated.

Regards

Yep, definitely something going on with active playlists. I changed some details in the properties window for a single file and the modified file disappeared from the playlist.

Just tried it here and it is working fine. After you create your active playlist, Mezzmo will start collecting data and inserting new nodes under your active playlist. If you click on Music and then click on your active playlist, you should see it updated with more and more entries. After a minute or so, all nodes should be listed under your active playlist. You may need to click on another playlist and then click back on your active playlist to see it updated.

Also, when you you change the properties of a music file, it takes ~30 seconds before the changes appear in your active playlist. As a test, right-click on a music file and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, change the Album Artist to "AAAA". Click OK. Mezzmo will display "Processing active playlists" in the Status pane. Once "Processing active playlists" has completed, then you should see AAAA listed under your Album Artist active playlist. Let us know how you go.

Hi Paul,

doesnt work. It Looks as if not all of my active playlists are being recognised. in the screenshots you will see that i Change tha Album Artist, that Mezzmo is trying to update the playlists, but it starts with "updating active playlists, playlists remaining: 3" !!!! I got more active playlists as you can see.
Will a total cleaning of the db help and is it possible only to clear out the Music files ? I got tons of films which arent recognised properly and i dont wanna do that work again...

ok, having a day off yesterday i went deeper into the Problem...

just made a backup of the "unusable" database and created a new one. a new one from the blank works fine.
after comparing both Folders ( backup vs new ) there seems to be a big difference in the mezzmoalbumart.db file.
the one where my db aint working anymore is just 13kb while the new working one is 500 MB !!!!
trying to Setup the old db and just deleting the albumart.db didnt work, even when saying he should collect all info new for maintenance
the albumart didnt change...

having a working Music db now, but would be great if you could figure out what happened, as i dont wanna Import all my movie files
again.

if you Need any data, just write.

Björn

Hello Paul

Doesn't work for me either. I can create an Active Playlist one level deep but if I add anymore then the whole playlist disappears.

Have done a compact on the database but no difference.

Cheers

I'm having the exact problem as described by Kevin. Any update on this?

Cheers, Jason.

We found that Kevin's Mezzmo database was corrupted in some manner. He is sending it to us for analysis. In the meantime, he has created a new, clean Mezzmo database and re-added his files. All his playlists are working fine now.

Hi Paul,

I rolled back to v3.4.1 and everything came good so I'm not convinced that there's any database corruption at my end but I'll happily recreate a new Mezzmo db to get up and running with the latest release.

Is there a way to do this through the UI or are there some files to delete from the back end somewhere? All *.db files from AppData?

Cheers, Jase.

Hi Jason,

That's interesting. We'll test v3.4.1.0 vs. 3.4.2.0 here as well.

To help us find out the problem, we'd like to get a copy of your Mezzmo database file (Mezzmo.db). It will be probably be quite large in file size so you will need to upload it to a filesharing site like dropbox, mega.co.nz, rapidishare, etc.

To start with a fresh Mezzmo database, the simplest way is to uninstall Mezzmo and re-install the latest version. Or, you can go to the following folder:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Conceiva\Mezzmo (for Win8/Win7/Vista)
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Conceiva\Mezzmo (for Win XP)

and delete all files & sub-folders except MezzmoMediaServer.ini. Make sure you stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo before deleting these files.

Update: We think we have found and fixed the issue with active playlists being empty or not being listed. This fix will be included in the next Mezzmo release. You can email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com for a patch if you wish to try it now.

Thanks, Paul. Trying out the patch now...

A question tho - should you see the individual tracks of an album for example when viewing a higher node?

Eg - using Group by letter, then Album. First node is "1" - for album "10,9,8.." etc. I expand the "1" node, and see the album node, and also all the tracks for that album... I shouldn't see the tracks unless I go into the album itself...

You will see files listed only at the bottom node of an active playlist if you have the "Only list files at the lowest level for active playlists" checkbox selected in the Options dialog (General page). If unchecked, you will see files at all levels of your active playlist.
