View Full Version : Mezzmo mucking about with video metadata fields

I recently upgraded to Mezzmo v3.4.1 and just noticed that when I add new movie records to my playlist, or when I edit an existing movie record, it now rearranges fields with multiple entries (the Genre and the Actor fields) according to its own logic, ignoring my attempts to reorder the entries.

This is more than a minor inconvenience, as I have the Genre field in alphabetical order. This reduces the number of entries in active playlists based upon this field. This new behavior threatens to explode the number of entries based upon an arbitrary logic, making this field essentially useless.

What's going on? Is this intentional? How can I stop this behavior, preferably without introducing other problems?

We have introduced better handling of multiple genres, artists, etc. in v3.3. See this FAQ for more details - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/6225-Tutorial-Working-with-multiple-genres-actors-artists-etc.

If you need further help, let us know and perhaps provide a few examples where you have problems with your genre metadata.

You are absolutely correct. Mezzmo now parses this and other fields using a comma delimiter. I had not noticed the change until you mentioned it, since I had upgraded from v3.2. This is a huge improvement in my view; I've wished for this from the get go. It also obviates my problem, as the program now aggregates into separate entries. Thanks for your help.

PS: I'd like to see some improvements to take better advantage of this capability, but I'll explore them in a separate thread. Thanks again.
