View Full Version : Problem with Sony KDL

I installed the new Mezzmo update and got today something strange:

On two mkv Files the playback stopps everytime on the same timestamp and the first two or three times the whole TV restarts. I can pass over the timestamps with Fast forward and can see the rest.

I Played another mkv File without any Problems, so it could be a transcoding issue....

Im quite sure that this does not happen with the last version i used (3.2.0.0).

Im not sure if that is a mezzmo issue, since on the last days there was a current problem in the whole town and microsoft has provide some new Updates, but this happens only if i stream something

I use a Sony KDL 55-EX500.

I reinstall Mezzmo again without any changes, i did not have older Programm Versions to try...

Got anyone else similar Problems???

No one has reported similar problems with the current version (v3.4.2.0). It's best we see a set of logs so we can see what may be going wrong. Turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Right-click on the MKV video in Mezzmo and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, go to the Transcoding tab and delete all transcoded files. Now stream this MKV on your Sony TV. When playback stops at the same timestamp, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all your logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

Of course the log is my next step, i will do it today...

In between, can u send me please a link to Version 3.2.0.0, i saw jesterday that i didnt have the Install for this Version any more...

Do u also need the file properties?

What iforgott to mention: Both Files who made troubles are from the same Source (Perhaps there is something wrong with the used encoding Software).

OK, have send the Log Files to the service and rolled back the Ver 3.2.0.0.

At the same Timestamp there was an acoustic noise (like a scratch for 1 or 2 seconds) and the Video continues without any Problems.

So the Video is a little bit defective what causes a big issue with the newest Mezzmo...

Thanks for this information, HTC. Please post the FFmpeg information for this video. Right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Also, confirm what device profile you are using for your TV. Go to the Media Devices dialog to see this.

As device profile i used the Sony KDL and the Sony KDL (2010 models). There were no changes...actually (with 3.2.0.0) i use the Sony KDL (2010 models) profile. Works as expected. Only some files stopping 10-20 seconds before the movie ends (that was the Reason for the Update), but i can live with that :)

From your logs, we can see a small problem. We'll fix it up and email you a patch to try.

I updated and installed the given patch, but no change, video and TV still stops and reboot.

I reinstalled now 3.2.0.0 and will in the next days disasseble my f...ing Sony TV and deliver it piece to piece to the disabled asian producer. Was the last Sony product i bought :(

Thanks for your try,

If all videos do this, then there may be a problem with your TV. If only a few videos have the problem, then it is likely that these problem videos may be encoded in such a way that your TV cannot decode and play them. You can try re-encoding them using a video conversion tool or use Mezzmo's pre-transcode feature to change the format that is streamed to your TV. If you need help doing this, just ask.
