View Full Version : Transcoded files not playing?

Hello,

I've been trying out your Mezzmo trial program and have been running into a few problems.

One of the main problems right now is that my playstation 3 doesn't appear to be playing the transcoded files. When I go to play a movie that is unsupported, the Ps3 says unsupported data, however Mezzmo begins to automatically transcode the file for streaming. For some reason, I can't seem to play the stream of the transcode, nor can I return to the movie when it has finished transcoding the files. If I am to understand correctly, once a movie has been transcoded, it will automatically stream the transcoded version to the playstation 3 instead of the original file the next time you go to play the movie, but this is not the case as it continues to say "Unsupported data".

Could you please tell me how to fix this problem in an easy way? if you can help me with this, then I may purchase the full version to go alongside PS3 Media Server for all my streaming needs :) otherwise I can't justify the purchase unless this transcode/pretranscode stuff works.

I also had problems before with the program crashing, but after looking at the forums someone said they had problems with it crashing also but discovered it was to do with artwork. Since deleting the artwork, the program seems stable now. I'm not too worried about the artwork anyway so doesn't matter too much, I just want to be able to play all video files to my ps3 and not see this annoying "Unsupported data" message keep cropping up.

Note: Xvid/divx works fine. It is just "mkv" that I am having problems with. Some will play, and some won't.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers.

Please turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Next, go to the Transcoding Settings dialog and delete your transcoded files. Now try to stream an MKV file and, when it fails to play, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
