Hi, been using mezzmo for ages with my Samsung D8000TV since the last update, I am having issues where I cannot time search or fast forward files, if I watch part of the show then back out the select the file again, I can fast forward.
I know it's not my tv or the files as nothing else had changed since updating Mezzmo.

Please fix, it's very annoying

Let us know:

the device profile assigned to your TV. Check the Media Devices dialog to see this.
the FFmpeg information for a video that has this problem. Right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'.

Hi Paul

It's every single video file from avi to mkv, I have to open the video then back out, on the third time I open the same video I can then fast forward and use time search, I have changed nothing but upgraded mezzmo to the latest version. It's definately the upgrade as I have changed nothing else, I even went back to older files that I have watched before and same issue.

Device profile is SamsungD

You missed posting all the FFmpeg information. Can you re-post the full FFmpeg information for a file that does not let you FF/REW first time playing.

Also, right-click one the video in Mezzmo and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, go to the Transcoding tab and you should see a transcoded file listed there. Select it and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Please post that information as well.

Thanks for the information. This AVI file is supported by your TV model so Mezzmo streams it directly to your TV without any transcoding and your TV plays it fine. However, Samsung D-series TVs have an annoying feature in their firmware where they only support FF/REW & Time Search for certain video formats (MKV, MPEG-TS). Try pre-transcoding the AVI to MKV (matroska) and see if that allows you to FF/REW & Time Search. To pre-transcode the AVI, right-click on the AVI in Mezzmo and click 'Pre-transcode Files'. See this FAQ for more information - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/6025-Tutorial-Pre-transcoding-Files

The reason this has started since the last update is that the Samsung D device profile has been updated to include more formats that Samsung D-series TVs support, so that transcoding is reduced.

Well I will be changing media streaming software then, I never had an issue before so why change it??
It happens on every single file. My tv played all files so it didn't need updating?

Can I roll back my upgrade?

Interesting. It's best we see a set of logs and we'll find out what's happening. Turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging). Go to the Media Devices dialog and edit your Samsung device. On the Device Settings dialog, go to the Transcoding tab and delete all transcoded files. Start your Mezzmo server and stream the AVI to your TV. When it fails to let you FF/REW as you mention, then stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

I can't be armed to go through all that trouble, can I just roll back to a previous version that worked :?

Sure - previous versions are listed here: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/6026-FAQ-How-to-download-older-versions-of-Mezzmo

Installed the version before your update and it's fine again, you might want to fix what ever is causing this problem as I'm sure I won't be the last to complain.
