Updating Multi-Value Property Fields

Now that Mezzmo detects multi-value fields e.g. Film Genres, it does not seem possible to simply ADD a new item to an existing field via the drop-down list. In otherwords, the user needs to manually type in the additional item(s). Would it not be possible to select the additional entry from the drop-down list and append to the existing list? Obviously you would need to allow the user to choose whether they want to replace or update the list
