In the process of adding a number of files to my streamed directory I discovered that for a large number of files mezzmo can't seem to retrieve metadata. This despite the video existing in IMDB. Is there any way to manually enter the url somewhere to force it? Or could this be included somehow as a future release version's option? I've also noticed it sometimes goes into a "not responding" mode when trying to retrieve metadata if doing a number of consecutive searches. Is this a mezzmo issue or the source of metadata blocking retrieval?

Also, I had meticulously renamed all the files so that release year was first, have my settings in "metadata retrieval" set to "use filename as title" yet it changed every single one to exclude the release year I had entered in parentheses as a leader to force it to sort on year. Does that setting only work in the case of TV episodes or have I got something else checked maybe that's overriding it?

Can you give a few examples where Mezzmo cannot retrieve movie metadata? We'll reproduce here and find out the problem.

The "not responding" may be that the online movie site was busy or having problems and Mezzmo is waiting for a response from the site.

Please provide an example of one of your full file paths where the "Use filename as title" does not work. We'll try to reproduce the issue here.

I suspect it was indeed a website bug as I finally seem to have managed to get them all updated I believe.

FWIW the issue was with mostly older movies (Alfred Hitchcock) from the 1930's and 1940's. What was puzzling is that I had expected it would find duplicate metadata with the numerous remakes (e.g 39 Steps, Mr and Mrs Smith, etc) and default to the most recent version, yet it wasn't even finding newer versions. I'll scan through the entire list today to see if any still need fixing and what happens when I attempt to update it.

At the same time I think I have solved the filename issue by removing the folder, then reimporting, rescanning and updating the library.

OK - glad you are up and running now :). If you can reproduce any of the issues at a later date, then just send an email to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we'll take a look.
