Aspect Ratio (Black Bar) Issues

Hello. I have recently purchased a Vizio E500i-A1 Smart TV. So far, I'm really liking Mezzmo to stream my videos to it but here's the problem. If I transcode a file that in it's original copy had black bars in it, but the RIP doesn't, the Vizio is stretching the screen to the top and bottom and making everything tall and skinny. I has played with the Aspect Ratio in the Transcode screen with no success. I was just wondering if anyone else has come across this problem and how they were able to remedy it.

Hi Andrew,

Most TVs have settings to adjust the aspect ratio of the video playing. It seems your TV is set to Fill mode at the moment. When the video is playing, press the Options button or Tools button or Settings button on your TV's remote and see if it lets you adjust the aspect ratio of the video playing. It is sometimes listed on the TV's menus as Zoom mode or Screen Display mode or Aspect Ratio mode.
