Hi there, i recently purchased mezzmo and I really like the software :D. I only seem to have a problem determining which profile to choose for my TV. I have a Panasonic Viera TX-L42ET60 (passive 3D tv).

So far I tried every panasonic vierra profile available in mezzmo, but none of them seem to work the way I want it to work.

The best profile I tried so far is "Panasonic Vierra 2013" models. But with the default settings mezzmo is transcoding many files that are not necessary to be transcoded. I have to uncheck the 'Transcode incompatable media files so they can be played on the device' option to stop this from happening. This way my TV plays almost every file, even with external subtitles.

I tried to play lots of different video files, but the only ones that do not seem to work with transcoding off are the ones with the DX50 (divx) codec, both .avi, .mp4 or .mkv. So for these files I want mezzmo to transcode them for me. Only when I check 'Transcode incompatable media files so they can be played on the device' again, ALL of my .avi files are transcoded and other formats too, even though they worked just fine earlier. Besides that I am losing the sound on these transcoded files with this particular profile, probably because mezzmo is saying under format: + mpegts (+ h264, -mp3). If I want sound on these files to be transcoded I have to go to another profile like "Panasonic Viera 2011" or "Panasonic Viera 3D (no divx)" and then it says format +mpegts (+h264, +ac3) and works fine.

My feeling says I need the "Panasonic Viera 2013" profile, but to only convert the files with divx codec, and to transcode those files withouth losing the sound somehow.

What do you think could I be right here? And is it possible to have another profile or maybe change it myself?

Thanks in advance. Peter

Hi Peter,

Please email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we'll create a new device profile for you. In your email, include the FFmpeg information for files that play natively on your TV and FFmpeg information for files that do not play natively on your TV. This will help us create the correct device profile.

Thanks Paul for your quick reply and helping out!

I have send the email with the FFmpeg information. I probably don't have all the information because there are so many types of files and codecs, but I think I got the most important information covered.

Hi,

I'm having a similar problem with my ET60.

I can get pretty much all of my video files to work using the Panasonic Viera (2011 models. DTS) profile, however 99% of my audio files (ie music, not movie soundtracks) hang for about 2 minutes before they play - no transcoding is taking place, I just get a spinning circle on the TV. If I check Mezzmo, it says the file is streaming. If I switch to the 2012 or 2013 profiles, then the audio files play instantly but a large number of the video files no longer play properly.

I've done some investigation, and the audio files that hang are m4a files, sample rate of 44.1khz and bitrate of around 125kb/s. The files that do play instantly have 48kHz sample rates and 165kb/s bitrates

I've had a look at both profiles, and both seem to support 44.1kHz sample rates. Is it possible to create a hybrid profile that has the video settings of 2011 DTS and audio of 2012/2013?

Note - both audio and video work fine on my Panny WT50 using 2011 DTS profile.

Thanks

P

Hi Pootle,

Given your ET60 is a 2013 model, then we'd like you to use the Panasonic Viera TV (2013 models) device profile and we'll tweak it to work for your video files.

Please email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we'll provide an updated Panasonic Viera TV (2013 models) device profile. In your email, please provide the FFmpeg information for the video files that do not play on your ET60. That will help us adjust the device profile.

Thanks Paul - I'll get the files together and email them over to you. Hope you got a chance to celebrate over the weekend?
