Hi Mezzmo team,

Since my Samsung D6500 is not able to use the movie metadata (plot summary) provided via DLNA by Mezzmo, I would like to know if you can recommend any TVs. Can you tell which vendors (Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, Philips,...) support the reading of text metadata and which models?

Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael,

We have not see a TV model display plot, actors, etc. Mezzmo is delivering this metadata, but most TVs' firmware seems display just title and artwork.

We're just finishing our Mezzmo Android app and it lets you browse your Mezzmo library and view all the details about your media files (title, actors, director, content rating, plot, artwork, etc.). You can select a movie and then push it onto your TV for immediate playback on your TV. So if you have a Android-based tablet or smartphone, this will be the best solution for you. Mezzmo v4.0 and Mezzmo Android are expected to be released in the next month.

will this make it possible to search for a title through all the various folders?

Yes - Mezzmo Android will have search features. Not sure if it will make it into the first release, but it will certainly soon after.
