Hello.

I like your program and I would like to know if you are planning to create a DVD OUTPUT within it ? If so, how soon?

I have a big avi (xvid) file and I just want to quickly build a DVD so I can play it on my tv, rather than watching on the computer (which is in another room).

When do you plan on adding such feature ?

Dear Doug,

Thanks for dropping a message on the forum.
At present, ConvertHQ does not have the facility to build complex DVDs.

There is however a very simple solution if you want to get your Divx on a DVD :

1. Convert your file into an MPEG2 (requires Premium version of ConvertHQ)
2. rename the file into VIDEO_TS.VOB
3. Create a temporary folder on your drive (ex : C:\_DVD)
4. In there, create a \VIDEO_TS and an \AUDIO_TS folder
5. copy your renamed file into \VIDEO_TS
6. burn the contents on a blank DVD using the WindowsXP/Vista burning feature.
7. you should end up with a DVD (d: drive?) that looks like :
D:\VIDEO_TS
D:\AUDIO_TS
8. Play that DVD in your DVD player.

It may not work for all DVD players but most of the DVD players we tested read the file immediately.

NOTE : there will be no menu, the movie starts immediately. It's a bit crude but it does the job.

NOTE 2 : some really large files may not work in some cases because of the format of DVD standard. You may need to "split" your movie into smaller files.

Our technical team is currently looking at the possibilities to add a proper DVD output feature.

Regards,
Frederic
