Playing ISO files

Hi,

I'm trying out Mezzmo 3.4.4.0. The main reason I want to buy it is because of the ISO support. I have an ISO file with 4 video's, which I can see and play fine (using a Panasonic Viera VT50 television).

However, I have one problem that I can't seem to fix: I can't get subtitles to work. Tried everything, but no subtitles to be seen. I want Dutch subtitles to appear. How is this normally done?

Two things to try:


When the video is playing on your Viera TV, press the Tools or Options or Settings button on your TV's remote control and see if you can change subtitles. Many TVs let you change/display subtitles this way
Right-click on the video and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, go to the Subtitles tab and see if your Dutch subtitles are listed there. If not, click 'Update Subtitles' - Mezzmo will try to locate them on disk. If still not listed, then I suggest you find an external .SRT (Dutch) subtitle file on one of the many subtitle web sites on the internet and download it into the same folder as your ISO file and name it with the same file name. Click 'Update Subtitles' in Mezzmo again and your Dutch subtitles should be listed now. Try streaming now and hopefully you will see Dutch subtitles.

Hi,
the television doesn't allow to choose subtitles. If I right click the video, I see a number of subtitles entries (Subtitles 1 etc...), all checked, no language set. Update subtitles doesn't do anything. I'm not sure what this means.
Finding srt files would be an option, but of course, I have the original subtitles because I have the ISO (ripped from my original DVD which I own), so I prefer to use the original ones.

Thanks for the further information. The original subtitles from the DVD are embedded, image-based subtitles ('dvd_subtitle' format). Since you cannot list them on your TV, it seems your TV does support displaying them when streaming videos via DLNA. In this case, you can extract the embedded dvd_subtitles and Mezzmo can burn them into a transcoded video. To extract them, go to the Subtitles tab on the Properties dialog and select the embedded subtitles and click Extract Subtitles (actually, extracting embedded subtitles is turned on by default when you add files into Mezzmo, so if you see some extracted videos already listed there, then you can skip this step). Next, pre-transcode the video by right-clicking on the video and clicking 'Pre-transcode Files'. In the Pre-transcode Files dialog, select your device and click Choose Formats. On the Pre-transcode Formats dialog, select the bolded format and select the 'Force burning subtitles' checkbox. Click OK to start transcoding. Once transcoding is complete, try streaming the video now.

(Note: The alternative method still remains - i.e. download an external SRT from a subtitle web site. This skips the above transcoding/burning step).
