Copying and viewing a DVD with multiple angles? [Archive] - Conceiva Software Forums

Hi all,
Has anybody had any experience of copying to disk a DVD which has multiple angles and then successfully viewed the movie using Mezzmo?
I have a copy of Ice Age 2 and I am copying it to my hard drive using DVDFab. When DVDFab loads the disk it tells me there are two main movies: Main 1(1) and Main 1(2).
I have tried copying just Main 1(1), and when I add it into Mezzmo, I get two movie icons appear. If I compare the properties of each file, the only difference reported is the file size. If I choose to play one of the icons, I get about 5 minutes into the file and the picture freezes but the audio continues, if I play the second icon, then the picture continues but I lose the audio. The same happens if I try to copy just Main 1(2).
I have also tried copying the entire disk and adding that to Mezzmo. I get a single icon, but when played I appear to get two versions of the movie interleaved playing together!

Any tips gratefully received!

Hi Steve,

Streaming videos with multiple angles should be fine. Depending on your ripping tool, either there will be several video files created (one for each angle) or one video file created with multiple video streams inside the video file - each representing the an angle.

Right-click on the videos that you create and add to Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Post that information here. Also, what device (incl. model number) are your streaming to? And, what device profile is assigned to your device in the Media Devices dialog?

Thanks for the reply.
I am streaming to both a Panasonic Viera TX-P42G20B and an XBOX 360. The device profiles being used by Mezzmo are 'Panasonic Viera (2011 models)' and 'Microsoft Xbox 360'. The playback issues I described exist on both devices.
So when I copy the Main Movie from the DVD using DVDFab, I get the option to choose either angle 1 or 2, and when I add the folder containing the vob files to Mezzmo, I get two movie icons appear.

Thanks, Steve. The FFmpeg information looks fine. One possible cause is that DVDFab may be ripping the multi-angle DVD in a strange (wrong?) way. See http://club.myce.com/f116/error-exctracting-specific-dvd-angle-dvdfab-decrypter-208550/ and http://www.dvdfab.com/multi-angle-movies.htm. Also, try playing your ripped DVD videos in a media player like VLC, etc. and see if they play OK.
