I am currently using Mezzmo 3.4.4.0 in conjunction with a WD TV Live Media Player. Video files can be accessed and play without problems, however if I use the Fast Forward or Rewind when I am viewing streaming video there is an issue. The 2X, 4X 8X etc works and I see a video footage responding, however when I press the play button on the WD TV Live remote it appears to pick up a random time further on in the playback and then plays back from there. Therefore searching through the streaming video to a specific point and playing from that specific point does not appear to work.

The files that are being played are AVCHD Video (.m2t) ....... any help on this would be appreciated

Do all types of video (AVI, MKV, etc.) have this problem or just your AVCHD files?

Please post the FFmpeg information for one of the AVCHD files. Right-click on the AVCHD video in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'.

Paul I have checked out MKV video files they play, fast forward and rewind correctly.

FFmpeg information for one of the video files that does not fast forward and rewind follows:-

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the information. I assume you are using the 'WD TV Live (Gen 1)' device profile. See the Media Devices dialog to check the device profile for your device. Using this device profile, Mezzmo is streaming the AVCHD video directly to your WD TV Live. Given that your WD TV Live is not handling FF/REW very well, it means that your WD TV Live's firmware is unable to decode and play this type of file when using FF/REW. I think the problem will most likely be the high video bitrate (26Mb/sec) of these AVCHD files, where the WD TV Live struggles to FF/REW videos with such high bitrates (i.e. high video bitrates require a lot of processing and this may be beyond the processing capabilities of the WD TV Live's chipset). If you can create AVCHD files with a lower video bitrate, then you may find that your WD TV Live handles them better.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the information, I can see that the bitrate for the MKV files are significantly lower than the AVCHD files, I will try to edit and save as a AVCHD file (Using Sony Movie Studio Platinum) at a lower bit rate and report back. I believe that you are right, I will provide feedback.....

Thanks, Brian. Hope it works better with the lower video bitrate :)

Hi Paul, tried at lower bit rates and the fast forward / rewind works great at 2X, 4X etc. Thanks for your help, the temptation is always to go with the fastest bitrate however there is a compromise (the trick is knowing where in the chain it's broken). I restricted the conversion bit rate to 15Mb/sec (from the original 26Mb/sec)......quality still great and it works. This post can now be closed out......thanks again

Glad it's working now, Brian. Thanks for posting back your solution.
