While playing tv show Vampire Diaries it just stops streaming, picture stays on screen and eventually will move to next selection and it does the same. The files play perfectly on computer using VLC. I have enclosed logging data and ffmeg file.

Edit: Sorry forgot to add that pretranscode fails on all files.

Thanks, Ken

Hi Ken,

Thanks for the logs. Mezzmo is streaming the MKV file directly to your Sony BDP and after playing a portion of the video, your Sony BDP suddenly aborts streaming. This suggests that there is something in the MKV file that your Sony BDP cannot decode and render (so it aborts). This could be due a badly encoded MKV file. Even though VLC can play it fine, other renderers (such as your Sony BDP) may not be able to decode & play it. You mention that pre-transcoding fails. That may be a hint that the file may have some problems. Please pre-transcode the MKV file again. When it fails, go to the Transcoding pane and click on the 'Failed' text for the MKV file that is listed there. Please post the FFmpeg information here or email it to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

Thanks, Ken. Please try this. Pre-transcode your MKV file again. This time, in the Pre-transcode Formats dialog, select the "Force full transcode of all channels" checkbox. This should stop the error you are currently getting with pre-transcoding. Transcoding will be slower this time, but it should transcode the MKV file and then you can try streaming it after transcoding has completed. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks, Paul.

Okay, did as requested but transcoding stopped at less then 30% (didn't say Failed). Video played for a few minutes then stopped and moved on to next selection.

It does look like the MKV file is badly encoded, Ken. Mezzmo could not transcode it successfully and your Sony BDP cannot play it either. VLC can play it - but it is an excellent media player and can often get over encoding issues contained in the file. If possible, I suggest you re-encode it again (if you created the video file) or, if you downloaded it from the web, then ask the author to re-encode it again.

Thanks, Paul. I suspected that was the issue and would normally have replaced the file but thought I would check with you first.
