Several things to try:

- Make sure your sound card can operate in full duplex mode.

- Try changing the Audio Source to "Stereo Mix", "Stereo Out" or another suitable audio source (click on the Recording Options button to change the audio source).

- Try selecting a different quality level when recording - go to the Sound Selection dialog (click on the Audio Quality button in the Recording Options dialog box).

- If you are using Vista, you may have an audio card/configuration that is not compatible with the current version of DownloadStudio. We are working on fixing this at the moment and expect to release an update that improves audio capture under Vista.

Here is a link on how to determine if your sound card is a full duplex sound card.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/273883

Chances are your card supports full duplex. If you have the correct driver installed for the card and the latest driver updates it should be fine. Use windows device manager to check your audio hardware is installed correctly.

If there are still issues with your sound card please tell us the name of the sound card you are using and the driver version (you can get these from device manager) and we will try to source the hardware and test it here.

Hi, has there been a version released yet that fixes the issues with Vista?

I cannot capture audio on both my 64-bit Vista Toshiba Satellite A300, nor my 32-bit Vista HP desktop computer. Both use the Realtek High Definition Audio driver (specifically version 6.0.1.5559 on my laptop).

I did get the capturing audio working on my Windows XP desktop.

Great to hear you are up and running now.

That's a great tip for any Vista users that are having problems with no sound in their captured audio/video when using DownloadStudio Audio/Video Capture. If you are having this problem, follow these steps:

1. Go to 'Control Panel' (Classic View) >>'Sound'

2. Select the 'Recording' Tab.

3. Right click on 'Microphone' in the window.

4. Tick 'Show Disabled Devices' and 'Show Disconnected Devices' menu items. Now, 'Stereo Mix' (and other devices) will appear in the list.

5. Select 'Stereo Mix' and click the 'Properties' button. In the Properties dialog, change the "Device usage" to "Use this device (enable)".

6. Reboot your computer and start DownloadStudio Audio/Video Capture. Go to the Recording Options dialog and you should be able to see 'Stereo Mix' listed. Select it and start recording your audio/video.

Let us know if you have any problems.

Best regards,
