DTS Audio not playing on some videos Panasonic Viera VT60

I have a couple movies where the DTS audio appears not to be transcoding. My TV is a Panasonic Viera VT60 using the new Panasonic 2013 profile. I tried a remux with no change. One movie that is not playing DTS audio has the following ffmpeg:

Instead of re-muxing the DTS audio, I suggest you fully transcode the DTS audio and that may help. Right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click 'Pre-transcode Files'. On the Pre-transcode Files dialog, select your device and click 'Choose Formats'. On the Pre-transcoding Formats dialog, select the bolded format and select the 'Force full transcode' checkbox. Click OK to start transcoding. When transcoding has completed, try streaming the video now.

I had previously submitted this thread for the video noted, but it appears to happen with a number I have acquired. Pre-transcoding does not correct the problem. I noticed something that appears to be common throughout all that have audio playback problems with DTS. When looking at the media info for each, the audio stream lists the language as "english, unknown." Other DTS audio streams that play correctly display "english" only. When I go to a header editor, the language always appears as "english" only. I cannot find how the audio stream acquires the "english, unknown" designation.

After further investigation, the problem with my DTS audio appears to be with the bit rate mode and the bit rate. The DTS files that play have a constant bit rate, the bit rate is 1509 kbps and the compression is lossy. The DTS files that will not play audio are variable bit rate, unknown 1509 kbps bit rate and compression lossless/lossy. Does that help in your diagnosis?

Thanks for the further information. Please provide the FFmpeg information for a file that does play and one that does not play. Right-click on a video and click 'Get FFmpeg Information' to provide this information. Also, let us know the device profile that you are using with your TV. Go to the Media Devices dialog to see this.

Thanks for the information. It appears that your particular TV model does not handle DTS HD Master Audio (DTS-HD MA). We'll look at adding better detection and support for DTS-HD MA into Mezzmo. For the moment, you will need to pre-transcode these files to another format. Make sure you you click the 'Force full transcode of all channels' checkbox on the Pre-transcoding Formats dialog when pre-transcoding.

We are about to release Mezzmo v4.0 in the next week. After that, we will be able to start work on new features such as better DTS detection.

I will look for the new release. As for the DTS detection, you may want to look at the Serviio detection. I switched over to Mezzmo from Serviio. Serviio does detect the DTS issues.
