Did you get your Chromecast fully set up and on your network? I only ask because I had a similar problem with my Chromecast. I downloaded the Chromecast app for pc and reconfigured it. Once I did that it showed up as a device in the mezzmo app.

It does sound like a Chromecast network setup issue. Check your network settings for your Chromecast and make sure your Chromecast can access your home network. Then, in Mezzmo Android, touch the 'Refresh' icon on the DEVICES tab to re-list all your devices. If that does not work, then exit Mezzmo Android and start it up again.

Glad you are making some progress.

Make sure you have transcoding turned on in Mezzmo since your Chromecast dongle does not play many formats so Mezzmo will have to transcode your incompatible files. Check this on the Transcoding Settings dialog and on the Transcoding tab on the Device Settings dialog for your Chromecast (get to this dialog by editing your Chromecast device in the Media Devices dialog). Next, try to stream a few photos and some music from Mezzmo Android to your Chromecast. Does this work? If it does, then try some other video files. Do they work? For any video files that don't work, go to the Transcoding pane in Mezzmo and check if they are transcoding on-the-fly. Post the FFmpeg information for one of the videos that does not play. Right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'.
