View Full Version : Samsung TV-40C650 no longer chaptering with new 4.x version

I waited until 4.0.3.0 to upgrade from the last 3.x version but looks like I should have waited longer!

My Samsung TV-40C650 no longer shows chapters on any of the files streamed from the new Mezzmo. It will pause and can jump - and in fact when my TV prompts me to continue where it left off then it can jump straight to that point. However no chapters - which when a file transcodes while watching and then jumps back out to the menu half way through watching - means I can't jump back in again either where it was - or chapter it to the right point. I could hold down the jump key continually for about 5 or 10 minutes until I get back to the right point but any DNLA server does that. The main reason I have stuck with Mezzmo is the chaptering!

I'm in big trouble with the family!

Anyway - first things first - I need a copy of the last 3.whatever Mezzmo exe. Then I guess we need to sort out chapters!

I enclose an ffmpeg debug of a file where this happens - but it is a normal file. It didn't need transcoding to work either as a USB stick in the side of the TV or as a file from Mezzmo. No chapters when streamed though.

I forced a transcode with MKV, h264 and AC3 (although not the force remux of all channels) - just the same. FFMEPG details below:

Any chance of a download of the old version until this one is working?

Best regards,

Matt

Previous versions can be found at http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/6026-FAQ-How-to-download-older-versions-of-Mezzmo . Note that you can rename the .exe files when you download them to match the version number (i.e. mezzmo-setup v3.4.4.0.exe etc..) I've done this to keep copies of prior versions.

Thanks for helping out, jbinkley60.

Matt: Sorry for the troubles. Check your device profile in the Media Devices dialog. It should be using the Samsung C device profile. If that's correct and still no success, then it's best we see a set of logs and we'll know what's happening. Turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Stream a video that did have chapters in Mezzmo v3.x but does not now in Mezzmo v4.x. When you see no chapters on your TV, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. We'll analyse the logs and fix the problem so you can get back up and running ASAP.

Hi

I´ve the same problem. Since Version 4 there are no auto-chapters.
In version 3.x.x.x there were 5 chapters in the bottom about all 10 minutes wenn in pause.

My TV is Samsung le40c750.

Is there any chance to fix it or will this fixed in one of the next updates?

Best regards

Paul

Thanks for that, Jbrinkley60 and Paul!

Running on 3.4.4.0 now and all's good - however I need to install the version 4 on my girlfriends laptop to test it out - I wasn't kidding about being in trouble with the family about the lack of chapters on their media files! :)

Will set up a separate test install to get the logs.

Hi Matt,

Don't worry about the separate install and logs. We have just fixed the Samsung chapters problem and several users report that the patch that we sent them works fine (i.e. chapters are now working on their Samsung devices). So, we are now preparing a minor release that will be available for all users in the next 1-2 days. It will include this fix and a few other fixes for issues recently reported by users.

Mezzmo v4.0.4.0 has just been released and it contains the fix for auto-chaptering on Samsung devices. This is a free update for all registered users.
