When trying to get Online Metadata of TV Series Mezzmo only finds the Serie, but not the Episode. It is an amount of work to chose the episode from dropdown menu for each movie.
Is there a possibility to get the episode automatically?

Using the Get Online Video Metadata dialog, it will search for the series and try to find the matching season and episode and select that one from the episode combo box. I just tried it here and it worked fine. Make sure the correct series, season and episode values are in the corresponding edit boxes on the Properties dialog before clicking the Get Online Video Metadata dialog.

Does this mean I've to enter season and episode manually in the appropriate edit boxes before selecting "Get Online Metadata"?
Is Mezzmo not able to extract this information from the filename if the information is included in filename?

Mezzmo automatically extracts the series, season and episode information from your video file paths. Make sure you have the 'Get text metadata from file path' checkbox selected in the Metadata Retrieval Settings dialog. Go to the Options dialog (Retrieving Metadata page) to check this.

Make sure your files are named in the following styles and Mezzmo will extract the relevant information from the file path:

C:\folder\Movie Title.avi
C:\folder\Movie Title YYYY.avi
C:\folder\Movie Title (YYYY).avi
C:\folder\Title s01e01 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title 1x01 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title Season 1\Title 1x01 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title Season 1 Episode 1 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title\Season 1\01 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title\Season 1\s01e01 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title\Season 1\1x01 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title\Season 1\Title s01e01 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title\Season 1\Title 1x01 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title\Season 1\Episode 1 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title\Season 1\Season 1 Episode 1 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title Season 1\01 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title Season 1\s01e01 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title Season 1\1x01 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title Season 1\Title s01e01 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title Season 1\Title 1x01 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title Season 1\Episode 1 Subtitle.avi
C:\folder\Title Season 1\Season 1 Episode 1 Subtitle.avi

A few examples for my existing filepaths/names:
C:\TV-Serie\Columbo\S01 E01 Mord nach Rezept
C:\TV-Serie\Columbo\S03E01 Ein Hauch von Mord
C:\TV-Serie\Star Trek - Raumschiff Voyager\Star Trek - Raumschiff Voyager s01e03 - Die Parallaxe
C:\TV-Serie\Star Trek - Raumschiff Voyager\Voyager s02e07 - Das Signal

Non of them works.
What is wrong? Have I to delete the "-" in filename

I just tried your files here and they work fine. Mezzmo reads the metadat from your file paths and then automatically downloads all the text and artwork for the TV shows and movies.

What version of Mezzmo are you running? If you don't have the latest version (v4.0.5.0), then please download it from www.mezzmo.com and run the installer to upgrade your version.

If you are running the latest version and it is still not working, then make sure you have an active internet connection and have the 'Get text metadata from file path' checkbox and 'Get text metadata and artwork from internet web sites' checkbox both selected in the Metadata Retrieval Settings dialog. Then right-click on the playlist or folder containing your files and click 'Maintain Playlist'. On the Maintain Playlist dialog, make sure the Update media properties' checkbox and the 'Update all attributes' radio button are selected. Click Maintain Now and wait until maintenance has completed. Then, check if your files have correct metadata now.

Hi Paul,

many thanks, I did as you described and it worked.

But I have unexpected result when sorting TV-Series "sort by Display Title":
- Columbo: S007 E001: Alter schützt vor Morden nicht
- Columbo: S002 E004: Alter schützt vor Torheit nicht
- Columbo: S006 E002: Bei Einbruch Mord
...

It seems Mezzmo sorts by "Title" instead of "Display Title". Please help.

If that is what you see in Details view in Mezzmo Windows, then you have found an issue and we have just fixed it. The fix will be included in the upcoming release that we are preparing now.

OK, thanks. Look forward to this release.
In the meantime for TV-Series I'll use sort by filename to get proper sort result.

Updated to 4.0.6.0, but the same sorting behavior.
