Hey Guys,

I want to play some MKV files (transcoded or not) but the TV says :"This file is not supportet" (in Dutch: "Bestand wordt niet ondersteund")

Last week I played many MKV files with no Problem, I changed nothing in my System or TV

How is this possible?

Dré,

I have a similar observation with .mts HD video files and Samsung TVs. Since I use Mezzmo 4.0.6 the Samsung TVs sometimes say 'File not supported' and next time play it without issues. I have a Samsung C and a D series Tv and both show the same randomness of behavior.

With Mezzmo 3.4.3 the .mts files were playing fine.

I have not yet reported the issue to Paul due to time constraints but I am sure its just a timing issue in Mezzmo's delivery.

Which TV model are you having issues with?

Thanks for reporting this, Dré & Bernhard. We'll need some more information to determine the reason for the problem:

Your TV model and the device profile assigned to the TV in the Media Devices dialog.
The FFmpeg information for one of the video files that has this problem. Right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'.
Are there any subtitles associated with this video? Right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, go to the Subtitles tab to check if there any subtitles.

Hi Paul,

(1) TV Models: Samsung UE40C8790 (Mezzmo: TV-40C8700) and Samsung UE32D6750 (Mezzmo: [Tv]UE32D6750)
(2) No subtitles associated
Additional Observation on Samsung C: When playing sometimes the file supports Chaptering and sometimes not. Usually .mts files supoprz Chaptering on Samsung C

OK - let us know if the problem re-appears and we'll find out what's going wrong.

Hi Paul,

will you follow up on my report or shall I open a new thread?
I tried what Dré did and had Mezzmo re-recognize my TV's after deleting their profiles. That made no difference in my case.
I also experimente with the bitrates of the videos trying bitrates around 8k and bitrates >12k. Absolutely no positive effect.

Hi Bernhard,

Let's keep your issue with this thread.

Your video does have a very high video bitrate (14Mb/sec) so it could be that you TV is struggling to play the video - but if it worked with a previous version of Mezzmo, then that probably is not the reason. Can you create a set of logs when you stream this video? We'd like to see what Mezzmo server and your 2 TVs are doing. Email the logs to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

Hi Paul,

How is that possible?

Hi Dré,

It's best we see a set of logs when the problem occurs. Turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Reproduce the streaming problem on your Panasonic TV and then stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. In your email, also include the FFmpeg information for the file you streamed. Right-click on the file in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'.

Done!

Hope you find the problem

Update: We found that the source of the problem for one user (BeFi). On the Windows Services window, BeFi had two Mezzmo servers listed under the same Windows user account. These two servers were sometimes running at the same time and this will cause conflicts in DLNA streaming. There should only be one Mezzmo server running per Windows user account. To check if you have the same problem, run Windows Task Manager and check if there are multiple "MezzmoMediaServer.exe" processes listed under the Processes tab on Task Manager (make sure you view all processes from all users). If you have multiple, then go to Windows Services window (type "services.msc" into the Windows Start Run menu) and check if you have multiple Mezzmo servers listed there. If you do, then change the properties of all but one of them to disabled so that only one Mezzmo server runs for that Windows user account.

Dré,

In my case (I had the two mezzmo media servers at times) the random behavior with HD videos is completely resolved. All TV's play all HD videos independent of bitrate.

Hi Dré,

Please check for multiple Mezzmo servers as I explained in my previous post. If no success, then email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we'll help you resolve this problem.
