Hi.

I've bought a new Samsung UE55HU8500TXXU TV for the living room and I've connected it to my wired network. I can see all of the hard drives I've setup within Mezzmo no problems on the TV. The problem starts when I click on the first folder within any hard drive IE: Drive J:\ Movies. I get this error message: "Request can not be completed. You will be returned to the main menu."

Now I've got a Samsung D7000 TV on the same network and it works perfectly fine so I'm a little perplexed as to what could be the problem here. I've got the latest version of Mezzmo running (4.0.6.0) on Windows 8.1 and the TV has the latest firmware installed.

Any ideas guys as I'm out of luck with this one :(

Hi,
Samsung TVs have a setting that tries to sort the contents of the media server, please make sure the TV is set to folder view so that no sorting is performed. If the TV is already in folder view please enable diagnostic logging http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging then after restarting your Mezzmo media server try browsing Mezzmo on the TV and then send the logs to support [at] conceiva [dot] com when the error occurs again.

Hi,

I've gone through all of the options within the TV and I can no see anything that says Folder View. I've even given Samsung Tech Support a call just in case it's called something different. They've never heard of it. So I've now emailed you to the above address the log files in the hope you can have a look through them and see if there is any issues.

I look forward to your reply.

I had a similar problem with my new Samsung awhile back. Ultimately I had to backup my database, blow away the production copy, restart Mezzmo and create a blank database, then add one folder (just so something was in the database). Then go to the Samsung TV that was having problems and connect to Mezzmo. Then I could change the view to folder view (top right of the screen) and ensure you can display the added folder. Once done, I restored my database and all has been well since. What's happening now is that it is crashing before you can get to the screen to change to folder view.

THANK YOU jbinkley60. I've got it working. There is defo a bug within Mezzmo and I now know how to recreate it.

If you add just the hard drive(s) then you get the error message "Request can not be completed. You will be returned to the main menu" but if you go into that hard drive and just add the folder(s) then it works perfectly find.

Mezzmo team. Could you please look into this ?
