I have a number of video files that do not fit into any genre. They are just small videos that I have downloaded from the web. I have one video called "Cat". Mezzmo assumes it is a movie called "The Cat" and populates the metadata with director, actors, etc. I would prefer it didn't populate the metadata at all, just leave it all blank.

So what I want to know is:

How can I clear out all of the false metadata?

How can I prevent the video from getting the false metadata again during the next library maintenance?

Thanks very much.

You can stop Mezzmo getting metadata for your videos from web sites using the Metadata Retrieval Settings dialog. Go to the Options dialog (Retrieving Metadata page) and click the 'Metadata Retrieval Settings' button to access this dialog - or click the 'Metadata Retrieval Settings dialog' button on the Maintain Library dialog.

To reset the metadata for a file, right-click on the folder / playlist containing the file and click 'Maintain Playlist'. On the Maintain Playlist dialog, select the 'Update all attributes' radio button and turn off getting metadata from internet web sites in the Metadata Retrieval Settings dialog. If you don't wish to do this for all files in the folder / playlist, then you can create a playlist (click 'Create Playlist' -> 'Playlist') and drag/drop the file into this playlist. Now you can maintain this new playlist. Once completed, you can delete the playlist if you wish. In the upcoming Mezzmo v4.1, you can right-click and maintain files.
