I've a weird problem so I'll try to explain.

I've setup my Mezzmo using the Scan Drive/Folder For Media Files option and all is fine but the problem I have rears it's ugly head whenever I try to add a new movie/show etc to any of the hard drives I've setup. It simply does not show any of the new content. They are there on the computer but are not shown within the Mezzmo software it's self or via either of my Samsung TV's.

Now if I setup Mezzmo the old way, (Insert / Add Folder) and map out the hard drives with my movies/series etc on, the new files show up instantly but my new Samsung TV does not play well with this method so the Mezzmo staff asked me to setup Mezzmo using the Scan Drive/Folder For Media Files option.

Anyone got any ideas as to how I can get Mezzmo to update as soon as there is new content ?

Thanks for the explanation. I'll explain the differences between Scan Drive/Folder and Add Folder.

Scan Drive/Folder finds all your media files in a specified drive or folder and adds them into your Mezzmo library. Once the scan has completed, then Mezzmo does not scan that drive/folder again. So it will not pick up any new files/folders/etc. that you make to that drive/folder.

Add Folder adds the folder, sub-folder and files into your Mezzmo library. It is dynamic in that whenever you browse the folder in Mezzmo (Windows) app or on your DLNA devices, Mezzmo then checks the drive/folder on disk for any changes. It will dynamically add new files and sub-folders into your Mezzmo library as you browse the folder.

My suggestion is to add the drive/folder into your Mezzmo library. Then use Maintain Library to check for new files/sub-folders in the drive/folder. You can maintain your library manually yourself from time-to-time or you can schedule it daily at a certain time of day (e.g. 2:00AM when you computer is not being used). This will ensure your new files are ready to be listed and played.

Possibly the original suggestion from us to use Scan Drive/Folder instead of Add Folder was due to Samsung TVs being very time sensitive when listing files and listing files from a dynamic folder took a little too long - which could abort listing on your TV. We have improved our DLNA response times in the latest version of Mezzmo (v4.0.6.0) so I am confident that using Add Folder is fine now.
