Hi,

I installed this evaluation software yesterday onto my home server in order to stream content to BDP370 and have what appears to be a funny but assuming it is something I have missed but reading the docs cannot see what.

On my server I have all my content already structured in folders, so have been trying to add the media as a dynamic folder, so point to photos folder (set to add subfolders), music folder etc. Mezzmo scans the folders and I can see subfolders in the mezzmo interface with the files etc.

However when I browse the photos or movies on the 370, I can see the folders but it reports no supported filetype. However if I go to the all files list, the files are there and I can stream them without any issue.

Even more confusing to me is that for music, I can browse through the folders and my music files are seen and playable.

Anybody have any ideas as I am a bit confused  and I have quite a bit of media so browsing through the all files list is not particualrly convenient.

many thanks in advance

In Mezzmo, go to the Media Devices dialog and double-click on the listed Sony BDP device. Change the device profile to one that better matches your particular Blu-ray player model - either Sony BDP (PAL), Sony BDP (PAL, No DivX), Sony BDP (NTSC), or BDP (NTSC, No DivX). Each time you change the device profile, remember to stop your Mezzmo media server and re-start it.

Many thanks for the reply,

I have set the profile to bdp pal and this has helped to a certain extent. I can now see my video files in the folders view however everything is being presented as M2TS which is working fine for MKV files, unfortunately the avi files will no longer play withy the unsupported file format message.

The photos are also still unable to display in folder view with the same message.

Is this something where I may need to customise the profile itself, are there any guides on doing this?

Many thanks

cheers for the reply.

My profile was set the generic one, when this was the case avi files played but my mkv files did not.

I have now changed the profile to bdp PAL, this now means all files are seen as m2ts. This is fine for mkv files as they now play brilliantly, unfortunately the avi files no longer play.

I don't think I have done anything wrong, but was wondering if I could tailor the device profile to be a combination of the 2 so I can have mkv and avi files working, but having had a quick look I don't completely understand the format so was looking for a guide.

of course if I have missed something I am more than happy to be corrected.

Have you tried the "Sony BDP (PAL, No DivX)" device profile?

We have found that the Sony BDP player's firmware varies from country to country. Some include native DivX support, and some do not. It seems from your description, that your Sony BDP player may not. Change to "Sony BDP (PAL, No DivX)" and you should get up and running. Let us now how you go.

many thanks for all the responses.

it would appear the issue now is actually with a number of my avi files, rather than the profile.

I have tried bdp PAL and bdp PAL no divx profiles and they have the same result. In true law of sod fashion the avi files I were using to test do not work at all, but other avi files do, the results are same for either profile.

How do I determine what the issue is with these files, I assuming they should be being transcoded as the working and non working avis are being presented as m2ts

The browing of photos is also now sorted, although the bdp shows all mezzmo media types under each of the bdp menus, you have to be in the correct media type for it to display the files in the mezzmo folders view.

I only have 2 days left of the 15 day trial so am really trying to sort this as it is now the last hurdle for a definite purchase.

Many thanks

Can you please send one of the non-working AVI files to support (at) conceiva (dot) com? If it's over 10MBs, we can use www.megaupload.com or any other similar service (including Dropbox). That would be the best way to see what the problem is. If not, then can you please send FFmpeg information (in Mezzmo right-click on a file and use the "Get FFmpeg Information" command) on one of the non-working files.

You can extend the trial by another 15 days once the first one is over, so we should be able to solve this.
