Subtitles with strange characters

Hello!

I have recently installed Mezzmo and I'm very happy with it so far.
The only thing that bothers me is some letters that appear in very specific subtitle lines, such as narration. The issue is something like this:

<i> Random frase here </i>

I really dont know why this happens, and I am sure that its not a problem with the subtitle file, because it dont show this <i> thing when I watch on my PC.
If someone know how to fix this, I would really appreciate it. =)

<i>...</i> is the italic text tag. Since you see this on your device, your device may not support this so it is just displaying the tag itself. Try this: Right-click on the video file in Mezzmo and click 'Properties'. On the Properties dialog, go to the Subtitles tab and select the subtitle listed there and click the 'Subtitle Settings' button. On the Subtitle Setting dialog, you can preview the subtitles by moving the slider along and change the various properties of the subtitles. If the <i>...</i> is not displayed, then you know that Mezzmo is reading the subtitle file correctly and then its most likely your device does not understand this formatting tag. You could edit the external subtitle file and remove these tags to resolve your problem.

I have tried what you said, and really appears to be a problem with my device, that does not understand this formatting tag.
I will do as you said and edit the external subtitle file and remove these tags, but it would be very good to have a solution that make all this tags be gone or be recognized by my device (which is a LG Smart TV LB7000 with WebOs by the way).
Editing all the srt files can be quite a tedious chore...

Another solution is for Mezzmo to burn your subtitles into the (transcoded) video. To do this, go to the Media Devices dialog and edit your device. On the Device Settings dialog, go to the Subtitles tab and turn off streaming external and embedded subtitles and turn on burning subtitles into videos. This will tell Mezzmo to burn subtitles into your videos. The problem with this solution is that Mezzmo will do more transcoding now, rather than streaming native files to your device - but it saves you the time and effort of fixing your subtitle files' tag formatting that your device does not understand. Try this and see how you go.

The only thing i noticed is that now, when I'm watching something, I can't jump forward or backward in the movie. That's probably because is transcoding is happening at the same time.
I found that I can pre-transcode to be able to FW/RW, but it takes to long. There is another way to transcode the file at the same time that I'm watching to get the subtitles properly but be able to jump around the movie length?

Glad that works better for you :).

That's right - when transcoding on-the-fly, many devices don't let you FF/REW. The workaround is to pre-transcode your file(s) before streaming them. Sorry, there's no magic fix to improve your pre-transcoding time. Burning subtitles into the video frames does take time and, if you are wanting to stream large, full-length 1080p HD movies, then it can take quite a long time depending on the capabilities of your PC.
