View Full Version : Folder art question

I have the following playlist structure I have in Mezzmo -

Library (playlist)/MS Share (playlist)/Movies (playlist)/movie folder/video

or

Library (playlist)/MS Share (playlist)/Shows (playlist)/show folder/season/video

I have Create Artwork Based On Contents Of Folder/Playlist checked (along with all the other options).

What I'm seeing is the last cover retrieved during metadata collection becomes the folder cover for the playlist hierarchy above the individual show or movie folder; up to and including Library.

I'd like the Library and MS Share playlists to not have art, the Movies and Shows playlists to have a custom cover and the movie and show folders to continue using the cover art from their respective metadata retrievals.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks.

Jim

Hi Jim,

You can right-click on any folder, sub-folder, playlist or sub-playlist and click Properties. On the Folder / Playlist Properties dialog, you can set your own custom artwork for the folder / playlist or you can remove the existing artwork.

Perhaps one way to set up your Mezzmo library is: Once you have all your folders added into your Mezzmo library, you could then turn off the 'Create artwork based on content in folder/playlist' checkbox in the Metadata Retrieval Settings dialog (Folder tab) and then remove the artwork from the various folders/playlist that don't want them and use your custom artwork on the folders/playlists where you want custom artwork. This should get what you want. However there is one problem: if you add sub-folders on disk one day to the folder that is referenced in your Mezzmo library, then they will not automatically get folder artwork based on the content since the checkbox is turned off. If this is not suitable, then I would suggest leaving the checkbox always turned on and setting custom artwork for those folders/playlists where you want custom artwork and also for those folders/playlists where you don't want artwork (so they don't get artwork based on the content).
