Hi,
I've repeatedly tried to upgrade my Mezzmo verions prior to the 4.1.2.0 with the 4.1.2.0... But the upgrade claims a lot of files is locked somehow ("Error opeening file for writing). I've uninstalled, cleaned folders rebooted and reinstalled (with admin privs) Mezzmo, still the same message, and I cannot unload Mezzmo, not even kill it...
The Mezzmo server takes a long time to unload/stop and sometimes I get errors telling me the service could not be stopped. Though, the system claims the Mezzmo server is currently stopped, the Mezzmo application is still active and the upgrade package informs me "Mezzmo is running, please stop it before continuing".. but it cannot be stopped(!):(.

What do I do to fix this?

I may add that if I try to start Mezzmo again it seems as if it starts more and more sessions of which none can be terminated... I now have three sessions/processes of Mezzmo running of which none can be terminated through the process viewer.. And, if/when the Mezzmo windows shows and I click exit it just exit the window... still multiple processes of Mezzmo running..
It claims it is 4.1.1.0 that is installed.

I suggest you uninstall Mezzmo from your computer. Before uninstalling, make sure Mezzmo.exe and MezzmoMediaServer.exe are not running. Check this in Windows Task Manager (go to the Processes tab and view all processes from all users). When uninstalling, you will be prompted to keep your Mezzmo library. Click Yes if you wish to keep it, or No if you wish to start from scratch. After uninstalled, download the latest full installer from www.mezzmo.com and install it. After that you should be OK.

If still a problem, then turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo app. Run Mezzmo app again and when the problem occurs, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo app again. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

If you have mezzmo running 3 times, killing everything using the task manager prior to uninstall wont help you!
Obviously, some mezzmo services are old remainders of previous versions.

Go into windows services manually and delete all entries!
You can also check the registry for the service entries and delete them..

of course still uninstall mezzmo..

but make sure you delete those services entries before you reinstall, or else you will have the other 2 services up and running again after reinstallation.

Or, not a nice solution, install the upgraded version to a different directory so the old services entries don't find your executable of the new version (this is a bad solution, since the corrupt entries
are still there..)
