Hi guys,

I've read the support article relating to restricting access to a specific folder using the Playlist Sharing permissions....

I have a folder that I have added to Mezzmo (lets call it C:\Restricted) and set the Filter to show videos, then I right click on it and set the Playlist Sharing and Deny All except the IP of the device I want to view them on... This works when I try and view the movies under the "Folders" option (the folder Restricted is missing as expected), but when I browse through all the other folders created by Mezzmo (Actor, Director, Movies (Unwatched), Recently Added etc) the restricted movies are there and I can play them from any device!

How can I get round this so I can only view the movies on the device I specified at the start?

Many thanks
Jon

Hi Jon,

A few things you can do:

Instead of using playlist sharing permissions, you can use content ratings to control what devices are able to list and play your files. For example, if your restricted files are R-rated or X-rated, then you can set your device(s) to not list R-rated or higher files. This works no matter what folder or playlist you browse & navigate on your device(s). You can also set the content rating for folders and playlists themselves so you can limit what folders/playlists are listed. See this FAQ for full details - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/7272-Tutorial-Parental-Control
Or, if you are happy to use playlist sharing permissions and you don't use the Mezzmo created playlists like Movies, TV series, Recently Added, etc., then you can delete these default playlists from your your Mezzmo library so you only have your folder for browsing your collection of files. To remove a playlist, simply select a playlist in the tree in Mezzmo and press the DEL key.
