I am trialling Mezzmo on a PC that is etherneted to a NAS drive running UnRAID and Linux.
My Sony Bravia can see the Mezzmo server, and thumbnails, but cant play anything from the NAS.
If i copy some media to my PC, the Bravia streams it from Mezzmo, no problem.

Any ideas what problem Mezzmo has with the NAS ?? Twonky seems ok with it, but that runs direct under Linux.

Can you please turn on logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) then try to play one of the files from the NAS and once it fails stop the server and send the logs to support (at) conceiva (dot) com - we'll take a look and proceed from there.

I have a similar problem and I believe its due to file permissions. I share my media over SAMBA from my Linux server. The Mezzmo mgmt application can see the files, but I dont think the media server has the proper elevation of privileges to see the mounted shares in windows.

The error in the log files indicate the media server cant read the media files.

Yes, that could explain that. The service has a little bit different permission settings as compared to the application, so it may have issues accessing some folders which would appear to be normal in the GUI.

Dennis - did you get my emails ??
They kept getting bounced at your end, so ended up sending the data in chunks.
The main thing i noticed in the logs was "error in getshortpathname".

How do i configure "the service", and its permissions ????

Yes, got the e-mails, thanks! We've been a bit busy here (more than usual) because of some new devices that we're testing, so response times have unfortunately grown a bit - hopefully things will be back on track shortly.

What are the access permissions on those folders? If you set them to one specific user, then that could be a problem. Maybe try setting one of those to be accessible by everyone and see if that helps. I'll take a look at the logs a little bit later and if I spot something I'll get back to you via e-mail as well.

I'm running into the same issue currently. I keep all of the movies on a server running fedora and have given full permissions to the files and folders but Mezzmo still has an issue playing them.

Can you please turn on logging as well and send in the logs? It may or may not be the same issue, so we'll need to investigate.

I have submitted them but was told it was a permission issue.

Ok, can you please reply to the support message that was sent to you and we'll continue via e-mail, because I can't match you to support tickets without knowing your name.
