Hi Paul,

I open a new thread for Chrome Cast as I did not find a solution to my problem.
As you recommended, I am using the Chrome Cast Profile without any changes except for the network which I set to Wireless A/G/Y 54 Mbps. When I am sending the DVD video to my Sharp Aquos TV, which is connected to my Chrome Cast dongle, the Mezzmo Logo, the DVD Picture and a moving bar displays. After a while I can see on my tablet that the movie starts but my TV stays black. I have tested many different configurations without success. Please help

Johannes

Hi Johannes,

It's best we see a set of logs. Turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Try to stream a DVD video to your Chromecast dongle and wait a few minutes. When it displays a black screen, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo app. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com for analysis.

Hi Paul,

I have learned that Chrome Cast needs mp4 in order to display correctly. I have chosen the profile for mp4 (h264 / aac) for pretranscode. It takes quite a while to transcode a DVD - about 40 min. I than started the film via my Andoid tablet and it works :-) Unfortunately on the fly transformation does not work, although I have an AMD 6 core PC with 8GB. It seems that I have transcode all films for Chrome Cast which means more disc space.

If there is a way to this on the fly please let me know.

thanks for your help

Johannes

Hi all,

just let you know that I bought a Samsung Blue Ray player with ethernet connection for 49 Euro. This players can connect to Mezzmo and plays DVD ISOs and BD ISOs without pretranscoding and perfect surround sound. Much much better than Chrome Cast Dongle!

Hi Johannes,

Good (and cheap) solution :). Glad you are up and running now!
