After having Problems with MKV Files playing on my Sony, i purchased a Samsung BD to stream to...

The first Files are working quite well, but now i got serious problems:

MKV File 1 can be streamed transcoded to my Sony but can not be played on Samsung. The Play Field beginns to load than to stutter and than i get every few seconds one flashing Picture frame without sound (one or two times it plays the video but without sound and the player displays a "unsupported audio codec" warning ; i cant reproduce the playpack). The player didnt react on any commands but ON/OFF.

MKV File 2 can be played fine on my Samsung but when i play the same File transcoded on my Sony, it becames asynchronous and pressinf ffwd/rw will stop the video and only audio goes on until i stop the Playback and play from beginn again. Pressing return and restart the file will display a black screen with audio.

I think there is something with the Framerate wrong... can i reduce the Framerate with mezzmo some how?

What is the optimal device-file for my Samsung (i tryed Samsung BDP and BDP 2013 until now)?

Later i will post the file informations for the two files...

Thanks HTC

PS: Thanks for the improved translation in german. Much better now!!!

I changed the Device Profiles until i found two Profiles who work now (also in the past didnt work well...):

For the Sony "Sony Bravia KDL"
For the Samsung "Samsung C"

Might help someone....

One downside of a BD streamer is that it will enforce Cinavia audio protection on Blu-Ray rips. Fortunately there aren't that many discs out there. A non-DVD streamer won't have this issue. Do I sound like I encountered this issue  ?

For your Samsung BD C5500, the Samsung BDP device profile should be a good match - but given your BDP model is a C-series, then the Samsung C device profile may also work well (even though this device profile is really for Samsung C-series TVs).

We're happy to look into your MKV issues if you are still having problems. Right-click on each MKV and click 'Get FFmpeg Information' and post that here or email it to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. Also, let us know what MKVs played with what device profile.

OK, since changing the device profiles everything works well, but mezzmo sometimes changes itself the device Options to Sony KDL (2010).

First i thought that it has to do with a Nvidia Programm and the Streaming Option of this Software, but after a very Long period of time the Options changes itself again.

Can i Change some files to write protected to get sure this wont happen again? If yes, which files and where can i find them?

Hi HTC,

The device profile should not change by itself. Email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we'll provide a patch that should help.

Seems like the patch is working. No profile changes since the patching day...

Thanks

Can i force Mezzmo to transcode prefered in mpeg and to ignore mpegts?

Hi HTC,

You can pre-transcode a file (or a selection of files, or playlist/folder of files, or your complete library) to a different format if you like. See this FAQ how to pre-transcode files - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/6025-Tutorial-Pre-transcoding-Files.

If you want Mezzmo to do this automatically for you in the future, then we can tweak the device profile for you. Let us know the device profile you are using for your device (go to the Media Devices dialog to see this) and also let us know the FFmpeg information for the MKV file (right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'). Post that here or email it to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

I already know the Pretranscode function and when i transcode them manually everything works fine, but i want to do it automaticly.

So yes, a tweaked device Profile would be great. I use now the "Sony KDL" device Profile.

Would you please tweak it to only mpeg and send it to me?

Is my TV the only one who has this Problem with mpegts?

Thanks,

OK after a while i start to handle the behaviour... or try to live with it :)

It actualy looks like this:

Mpegts start, wait a few seconds, than restart, the audio is now sycronised to the video. Pressing FFW or RW will stop the video playback and only audio will continue. Than i can only restart the playback.

Mpeg is beeing transcoded well, so no isues with that. Th Video Quality is lower than the Mpegts transcoded.

Sorry for beeing absent for a long time but in the meantime i began to hate my TV and mezzmo.

What device Profile is actually the best for my TV?

Whould it be better with Mezzmo V5.0? Any Changes regarding my problem?

Thanks, HTC

A few questions:

What model is your TV?
Still using the 'Sony KDL' device profile?
Right-click on a video that you are streaming (and that has the problems you mention) and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Post that here.
Right-click on the video again and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, go to the Transcoding tab and select the 'mpegts' transcoded file and click 'Get FFmpeg Information. Post that here. Next, select the 'mpeg-2' transcoded file and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Post that here.

Post all that information here, or email it to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
