Hi,

I'm running Mezzmo 4.1.3.0 In the 'Sorting' field of a folder properties page such as 'Videos' or any of the sub-folders, if I select 'Titles Descending' or 'Sort Titles Descending', it ends up sorting in ASCENDING order. I've played with this and nothing seems to work. Thanks for the help.

Hi Steve,

Just tried it here and it's working well. 'Titles (Descending)' sorted the files using Titles field from Z-A. 'Titles (Ascending)' sorted the files using Titles field from A-Z. Perhaps take a screenshot of Mezzmo and post it here so we can see what results you are getting.

Paul,

I had a copy of Snagit but I recently re-installed Windows, didn't get around to also re-installing Snagit and now can't find the disk. So I can't give you a screen shot.

In the main Mezzmo window, with Library > Video > Folders selected, it says 'no sorting' in the Properties Pane. Now if I right-click on the 'Folders' node and select 'Title (Descending)' in the 'Sort By' combo box of the 'Folder Properties' page and click 'OK', it will then say 'Title (Ascending)' in the Properties Pane where before it said 'no sorting'. Not only that but the items will, in fact, be sorted ascending. If I select 'Title Ascending' in the 'Sort By' combo box (thinking that things might simply be reversing themselves), Mezzmo will obey and sort them that way so that, in effect, things are always sorted ascending, never descending.

I tried to figure out if there is a registry key for this by changing some values in the program against any observed changes in the registry but no luck. I also ran Setup in repair mode again with no luck. One more thing: the database was restored from a backup.

This is not a big deal for me.

Thanks.

Steve

But if you want to pursue it, I'm at your service.

To take a screenshot, simply press the "PrtScrn" key (PrintScreen) on your keyboard and it will take a screenshot of your desktop and put it in your Windows clipboard. Then, run Windows Paint and use Edit/Paste menu item to paste the contents of Windows clipboard into Windows Paint. Save the file as a JPEG and post it here or email it to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. (If you press Alt + PrtScrn keys, then it will take a screenshot of the active window and not the whole desktop)

I hope that worked. In the first screenshot, the Properties Pane shows Ascending where it should be Descending. The second one shows the 'Playlist' properties page with the value as it was set. The Playlist page always shows the value as I want it to be but the Properties Pane in your main window does it the other way around and the items are sorted to agree with that value.

Thanks for the screenshots. The list of files is sorted correctly, but I can see that the Properties pane on the left bottom side is not updated correctly with the correct "Sort by" setting that you have chosen in the Properties dialog. We'll fix that up for the upcoming Mezzmo v5.0. Thanks for reporting this.
