Hello. I have a folder containing multiple movie folders and a Mezzmo server with daily maintenance enabled. The problem I am having is that top most folder (the one containing movie folders) doesn't have its thumbnail refreshed. For example I see a thumbnail for a movie no longer located in it. The movie folders are updated as they should, only one level higher folders don't get updated. Do you know a way to keep them updated? Is this a bug?

I too have been seeing similar issues with the library refreshing, including the wrong thumbnails and often, the Library just refuses to update on the playback device. I am currently running Kodi v14 on a Chromebox and RaspPi. I also use PlayOn to serve NetFlix and Amazon Prime content to my TVs via Kodi and I don't have any problem with it updating (for example, if I remove or add something to my watchlist, it updates as normal). I am not sure if this library refresh occurs when the Renderer requests it or if Mezzmo is supposed to send it when the Renderer logs on. I have messed with a ton of settings and tried deleting and editing Kodi's .xml files till I am blue in the face and I haven't found a solution short of reinstalling Kodi.

What are you using as your DLNA Renderer?

adriantc: Mezzmo collects the first file in a folder and caches it's artwork for the parent folder's thumbnail. To update the thumbnail, right-click on the folder and click Properties. On the Properties dialog, delete the artwork and click OK. Now when you browse into the folder, Mezzmo will collect the first file again - which should be an existing file in your Mezzmo library.

smitbret: Do you see this on all playback renderers/devices? Are the thumbnails/artwork OK in Mezzmo app itself? My guess is that Kodi/XBMC is caching the artwork. Try deleting the Kodi artwork cache and see if that improves things.

Thanks Paul. Seems I wasn't paying attention. I should have selected the overwrite option when doing the maintenance. It is fine now! Thanks!

Mezzmo apps on my phones and tablets are fine. It is just when using the DLNA on Kodi. I can clear the thumbnails and textures.xml from the Kodi installations and it clears up any thumbnail issues, repopulating when I go back in after a reboot. The big problem is just not recognizing new titles or Playlists.

For instance, I created an Active Playlist for VeggieTales four days ago but it does not appear at all in Kodi.

Another example is that I added an .mkv with the rip for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. It shows up in my New Releases playlist but not in Recently Added, Movies (which should be all Movies out of the 'Movies' folder) or my Rolodex style "Movies A-Z" list that shows anything with the Category of "Movie" by folder.

Glad you found the reason :).

Can you capture a set of logs when you browse these playlists on your copy of Kodi and we'll make sure Mezzmo is delivering the files in question. Email the zipped logs to support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
