View Full Version : On-the-fly gapless audio for Mezzmo-to-Mezzmo playback

I have all my music on a Windows server; but sometimes I like to listen to it using my Kindle Fire HD. Alas, I can’t find a single Android app that supports gapless playback from either SMB shares or DLNA.

I know Mezzmo has an option to pre-render gapless files... but I have hundreds of albums; there’s no way I’m going to go through all of them, identifying every place where two or more adjacent tracks need to play without a pause and then recreating those albums with the necessary tracks merged.

I understand that on-the-fly gapless support in general is probably impossible under DLNA; but it would be great if, in the special case of a Mezzmo android app playing music from a Mezzmo server, gapless playback could be made to Just Work.

It’s something I think no other product can do right now.

Interesting idea, Coises. I understand your thoughts & we'll discuss it here more for a possible inclusion into Mezzmo (Android) and Mezzmo server.
