I have recently purchased mezzmo and have sorted out files etc. Now I cannot seem to play music files through home cinema system. I can play them through the tv speakers but no sound when I switch to external speaker. My 7 series samsung tv is connected via HDMI to Onkyo reciever. Blu-ray and SKY HD + box conected to receiver via HDMI as well. Optical leads for sound are used to connect BLU ray and Sky box to receiver. I have tried every setting on reciever eg DVD,CD,AUX etc and still no sound Anyone any ideas?

If you can stream your music from Mezzmo to your Samsung TV, then at least you know that your media streaming is working well.

Check if the HDMI ports on your TV are input ports only, and not output ports. They may not be able to output music from your TV to your receiver. Perhaps check your manual for your TV with regards what are the output ports.

Does your Onkyo receiver model have DLNA? If it does, then you could stream your music directly to your Onkyo receiver using Mezzmo. Mezzmo does include an Onkyo device profile.
