View Full Version : Playback on Samsung Plasma TV

Hello.... i need help regards playing media files on my TV. I have configured the TV in the media device list with the IP address of the tv. Now when i am TV (samsung PS50c550 plasma Full HD TV) ... when i click on dlna all shar, it does not show mezzmo...also on mezzmo software i dont see any icon to send files to tv... am I going right? Could some expert give me a detailed guide as how to do it or give me a link where i can read all the step by step guide. Thanx in advance

Mezzmo should auto-detect your TV and list it in the Media Devices dialog, so you do not need to manually enter the IP address.

Try doing these steps.

In Mezzmo:

1. Stop your Mezzmo media server.

2. Go to the Media Devices dialog and delete all the devices listed there.

3. Start your Mezzmo media server.

4. Switch on your TV, and you should see in the Media Devices dialog a new entry added. This should be your Samsung TV. If you don't, then switch off and on your TV and, using your TV's remote, try to browse all media servers on your TV in the media player/server section on your TV's menus.

If you still do not see Mezzmo listed on your TV or the Samsung TV listed in the Media Devices dialog, then you need to check your home network. Check these things:

1. Make sure your TV and computer are both connected to your home network using either Ethernet cables (recommended), wireless, or HomePlug/Powerline.

2. In Mezzmo, go to the Media Server Settings dialog and click the Configure Windows Firewall button if it is enabled.

3. Check your router - it may have built-in UPNP turned on or a firewall turned on. Try turning it off. Reboot your router and PC after making any changes.

4. If you have installed other DLNA media servers, then uninstall them. You may need to uninstall and re-install Mezzmo after this to make sure there's no conflicts.

5. If you are using another firewall, make sure "MezzmoMediaServer.exe" and the port listed in the Media Server Settings dialog in Mezzmo are not blocked. Also, the ports 1900 and 2869 should not be blocked.

Thanks for all the suggestions, its working now. I had some questions:

(a) Can I send/share my computer screen on TV through network/dlna?
(b) To share my mobile phone content through wifi, should my mobile be dlna compliant?
(c) Some 1080p video play shows delay when played through Mezzmo, can it be due to network lag or I can change some settings??

No, not at the moment (there are no immediate plans to implement this, but this has been suggested before as well).


(b) To share my mobile phone content through wifi, should my mobile be dlna compliant?

Generally yes, but if you can access your phone's files via normal Windows Explorer (like a USB drive), then you could add this folder to Mezzmo and then it should allow you to stream those files.


(c) Some 1080p video play shows delay when played through Mezzmo, can it be due to network lag or I can change some settings??
If they are native, then most probably the TV is caching them and is loading more data than normal, so it takes longer to start. If they need transcoding, then possibly the transcoding speed is not enough for smooth playback. We can check if you turn on logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) then play one of those files for a few seconds, stop the server and send the logs to support (at) conceiva (dot) com
