DirecTV HR 21 no ff or rew

Is their a way to get my directv hr 21 to fastforward and rewind my avi (divx) videos? the devices are using the directv hr 20-21 profiles.

Those types of files need to be transcoded, so most probably that's why you can't use FF/REW. When the file finishes transcoding, you should be able to FF/REW it - can you please try playing that file again and see if you can fast-forward/rewind?

After transcoding the FF and REW still do nothing. Anything else to try?

Does it work on any other file types? For example if you have MPEG2 files - can you FF/REW them?

Also, is the firmware on your DirecTV the latest available version?

It does not work with any file types that I have tried. Those include AVI (divx encoded), MPG, MK5 and WMV. I currently have 3 directv HR-20 (1) and HR-21 (2) all firmware is current and the functions do not work on any.
