Library corrupted?

I have been using Mezzmo for a couple of weeks now and it has been working fine with my Sony BDP Blu Ray player, however I seem to have messed it up in my attempts to organize the folder structure.

When I first installed Mezzmo I used the defaults ant it searched my hard drive and set up all the folders automatically. At this point my BDP could play all my music files ok. Then I decided that I didn't want/need some of the folders which Mezzmo had found.

Since these were 'dynamic' folders under Mezzmo's 'Music' hierarchy and Mezzmo would not let me delete individual folders, I decided to delete the whole Music hierarchy and then set about adding manually the folders which I wanted. I selected the preset for music files, but removed m4p (protected aac) from the list of file formats.

Mezzmo appeared to add the folder and the music files ok, but I could not see them from my BDP. When I navigated to one of these music folders, my BDP would say 'not playable file found'.

I tried the 'maintain library' option in Mezzmo but it has not helped. I also tried deleting the Music hierarchy and getting Mezzmo to add it back in but still my BDP cannot find any playable files.

When I look under 'Artists' in Mezzmo I can see what looks to be a complete list of artists but no files are shown for them.

Another strange thing is that under 'Music' if I select 'All Music Files' it shows a number of MP3 and m4a files. However, if I look under Music/File Types there are no files under the MP3 and M4a

With my attempts to organize the music hierarchy I seem to have completely confused Mezzmo. Is there a way of purging my Mezzmo library and starting all over again?

Note, my Sony BDP is able to play video streamed from Mezzmo so I am confident that it is not a connection or firewall problem,

The easiest way to reset things is to delete your library database file - it's called Mezzmo.db, if you search your whole computer for it, it'll be in your personal data folder (the exact location depends on your Windows version).

The folders/files on the BDP should reflect what you see in Mezzmo though - if you see music files in Mezzmo in a folder, then they should appear on the BDP in the same folder as well, provided transcoding is on and you're in the right mode on the XMB.

I cannot find 'Mezzmo.db' anywhere on my computer.

My Conceiva user data folder is under C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Conceiva\Mezzmo

In this folder I see:

DeviceProfiles (folder)
LargeIcon.jpg
LargeIcon.png
MezzmoServices.txt
nrasxp.cva
SmallIcon.jpg
SmallIcon.png
Thumbs.db

I am running XP Pro SP3

Is there some other filename I should be looking for?

It'll be in your personal folder, so something like "C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Local Settings\" (I don't remember the exact XP path, but I can check it on an XP machine here if you don't find it)

Correction. I went into Mezzmo and checked the current settings and the user data folder is indeed under my <user name> data account on my computer. I have no idea why Windows search couldn't find it unless it was because it was under what it thought was a hidden file/folder. Anyway, I found it now and have deleted it.

finally I managed to get access to the TV and verify this ..
By deleting the .db and setting up manually a single folder under Music in Mezzmo, I am now able to play music files through my BDP player once again. Next I will continue adding the other folders where music is held on my XP machine, hopefully I won't encounter any more problems with the db getting corrupt.
