Hi

I am new to this forum. I am considering this product to buy. But the biggest problem i am facing is that, eventhough i am play most of my video files , i am not able to fast forward or rewind or skip these files. Am i missing anything here or am i doing the correct thing. I tried several video formats, but no success. Somebody please help. I am using Windows 7 and trying to use it through Sony BDP S570 via DLNA(firmware upgraded)
thanks in advance

Hi,

Please send a message to support (at) conceiva (dot) com and we'll send you a patched version to try that should make FF/REW work on the BDP. This should only happen on transcoded files, normal (native) files should allow you to FF/REW with the stock version 2.1.11.

I have exactly the same issue.

I am on version 2.1.11, and I am experience the exact same problem with my Sony BDP-

S570. Do I need this patch also?

You mentioned that this should only happen on transcoded files. How do I know if my file is transcoded? When are files transcoded? Is it based on file type?

What are normal / native files?

Please let me if it is not proper etiquette to chime in on a thread as opposed to

starting a new one.

Yes, please do send a message in and we'll send something out to try. We use device profiles to determine whether a file is "native" (doesn't need transcoding) or not. Yes, it's based on the file type and audio/video codecs it contains - at the moment the only way to check if the file is being transcoded is to look for "ffmpeg.exe" in the Task Manager (or watch the transcoded files folder to see if any of the files are growing in size), but a future version of Mezzmo will have that information in the GUI as well.
