Has Conceiva had the opportunity to test Mezzmo and Windows 10 and are there any issues with it. I'm currently running Mezzmo on Windows 7 with no problems whatsoever and I'm hesitant to allow my pc to do the free upgrade if I'm going to have issues with it.

Thanks.

We have tested the current version of Mezzmo (v4.1.3.0) on Windows 10 and it works fine. In addition, we have had feedback from Mezzmo users who have Mezzmo running on Windows 10 and they confirm it is working fine.

That's great to read, thank you.

Yes, it is working fine for me.

The only difference I have is that now I have to restart the media server every time I reboot my pc whereas before it normally started automatically.
The media server is correctly set to start at Windows startup.

This is not a major issue but is there a way to resolve this?

Hi! But I have a problem to start service of server on Windows 10 - "The Mezzmo media server service could not be started! Error code 2" ? Why? There is not any firewall active. Mezzmo (v4.1.3.0)

Solved! Reinstall the Mezzmo

Today the media server did start automatically at Windows startup!

OK - glad its working better now. Let us know if the Mezzmo server not starting at Windows startup issue comes back and we'll look into it. It is working well for us here.

If you email us a set of logs, we'll know what's happening. Turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo (Windows) app. Now reproduce the problem you are having. Once reproduced, then stop Mezzmo server (if running) and exit Mezzmo (Windows) app. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

Having terrible problems with Windows 10 and Mezzmo at the moment. Since I upgraded from Win 7 all my movies only play for a minute or so and then skip to the next movie. I also see excessive loading while programs are playing as well as video is freezing when Mezzmo suddenly stops streaming. Please help as I am about to down grade back to win 7 as I cannot live without my Mezzmo.

First step, check the device profile assigned to your device in the Media Devices dialog. If that is OK, then it's best we see a set of logs. Turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Now reproduce the video freezing or stopping on your device when streaming from Mezzmo server. After it happens, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo (Windows) app. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

I'm not having terrible problems but some minor issues.

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit 16 gig ram, quad core CPU, computer up stairs, wirelessly to router down stairs wired to LG Bluray 5.1 player this wired to Samsung TV.

Mezzmo ran perfectly under Windows 7 but I've had the odd freeze since upgrading, also when I've switched the computer on Mezzmo wasn't running despite being set to, also not showing on the LG server list when it should have been.

We have two accounts, me and my wife, if we log onto my wife's account Mezzmo starts up, it never did this under Windows 7.

All in all these problems aren't major and can be worked round, they're just slightly annoying and might actually be caused by the LG Bluray system which is getting a bit long in the tooth, Mezzmo is still a great way of getting media to my TV.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the feedback. We are getting a few people who have upgraded to Windows 10 also report streaming issues. We also notice that users of other media servers are having the exact same issues, so it appears to be a Windows 10 upgrade or configuration issue. I suggest you send us a set of logs and we'll see if anything is going wrong. Turn on logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Now replicate the problem you are having and once reproduced, then stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo (Windows) app. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

Do you have a resolution for this issue?

Do you have a resolution for this issue?

Most (all?) Windows 10 users are up and running with Mezzmo. A few users did have a disconnect issue whilst streaming videos. We found this was caused by the Windows 10 upgrade. A few users re-installed Windows 10 from scratch and all their streaming problems disappeared. We also do have a patch available that does work better under Windows 10, so you can email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com for this.

Since upgrading to windows 10... first none of my movies were displaying. Reinstalled and now movies are displayed but none of my tv series are (they worjed when movies didn't). A system task for getting text metadata and artwork for videos from internet is running and won't stop. Even when I stop service and process and restart it is there. Option to cancel all user tasks does not work. The more ironic thing is that I am using local files for metadata and artwork and have not even asked it to search the internet. Mezzmo does not always start when windows starts as others have mentioned. This was all stable on win7 x64.

It sounds like that Windows 10 has possibly changed access permissions on your folders or files - and that may be causing files to appear or not appear. It's best we see a set of logs so we can track down what's happening. Turn on logging (see http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=using_logging). Stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo (Windows) app. Run Mezzmo (Windows) app again and start your Mezzmo server. Now reproduce the problems you are having (e.g. cannot see TV shows, etc.) and once reproduced, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo (Windows) app. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com for further analysis.
