I have imported the iTunes database as per the Mezzmo FAQ. The iTunes Music Library.xml imported 'ok' but I can only see music files which are mp3 or m4a

Is Mezzmo able to stream the m4p (protected/DRM's) music from my PC to my Sony BDP?

thanks

Mezzmo will present a playlist/folder of your DRM files to the device just like it does for any other files. If your device can play them, then they will be displayed on your device for selection and you can select them for playing. It is up to your DLNA device whether it can play them or not natively.

Mezzmo cannot transcode DRM files.

sorry, I did not explain very well.

It is in Mezzo that I only see the mp3 and m4a files.

In Mezzmo, under Music/iTunes/Party Shuffle and Music/iTunes/Purchased there are only mp3 and m4a files showing up. None of the m4p files (i.e. the majority of my iTunes music) which does not show up in Mezzmo

Is Mezzmo sensitive to the iTunes version? (I am running quite an old version of iTunes on my PC)

I have just read in the manual for my Sony BDP S570 that it does not play coded files such as DRM, so it seems like I am out of luck.

Maybe the next DLNA compliant hardware I buy will be able to play DRM's files

thanks for your help

Paul,
I still have a problem with Mezzmo in regards to my iTunes library:

Although my BDP cannot play DRM'd files, it can play mp3 and m4a so I decided to see exactly how many of these types of files I had on my computer, user the iTunes folder on my PC:

In total there are 696 files which are mp3 or m4a

Mezzmo reports:

16 files under 'Party Shuffle'
7 under 'Purchased'

do you have any idea how I can get Mezzmo to recognize the remaining 600+ ?

thanks

Somehow my iTunes playlists had got deleted in iTunes. So I went into iTunes and set up my playlists, exited iTunes and in Mezzmo I imported the iTunes .xml file again.

I now see all my 600+ files under Music/iTunes in Mezzmo, however when I tried playing on my Sony BDP S570 although it could see all the files it gave the following error:

"The file is corrupted or the music file is not supported"

The odd thing is that after attempting to play these iTunes MP3s a few times and getting the same error, it said on my BDP that the server is not running. I checked in my BDPs network diagnostics and it say that the network connection is fine.

I then tried to stop the Mezzmo server but in the bottom r/h corner of the Mezzmo screen it said that it was still running.

Only after closing the Mezzmo application and starting it again was I able to stop yje Mezzmo server and restart it.

This seems to have fixed the problem for now and finally I can play my iTunes songs through my BDP
