Hi Clay,

This site seems to be played in Adobe Flash. You can use DownloadStudio's URL Sniffer to detect all the music and video URLs. Simply run DownloadStudio URL Sniffer whilst browsing the site in your web browser and it should pick up all the audio & video URLs. Then you can download them with DownloadStudio download manager.

Hi Guys. On this URL Sniffer topic, I can't get any satisfaction from this page's video...

Hi,
the page uses https for communication so URL sniffer cannot see the contents and won't find the video URL. We will work on trying to support downloading of these URLs when directly added to DownloadStudio.

Ok. Thanks very much.

When you go to the page i think you should get a option to download videos.

Thanks for the suggestion. If you turn on DownloadStudio's URL sniffer, then you will be able to see a list of videos that have been detected on the page.

Hi again. I can't find a way to download this video (https://www.facebook.com/100008227483408/videos/1409650715985831/)

The URL sniffer doesn't show anything.

Can you help?

Thanks.
Clay

Hi,
this page uses https so URL sniffer will not be able to find the URLs. You can try right-clicking on the video and choose inspect and this will show you the video tag and you can right-click on it to choose edit then copy the contents of the src attribute and this is the video URL which you can add to DownloadStudio to download.

Thanks, but, there is no "inspect" option. Did you try that? I get "Show video URL", which is what I posted here, and in DS (didn't work).

If you can make it work, please let me know what you do.

Thanks.
Clay

Hi,
in Chrome or Firefox you will get an Inspect option, other browsers might be different. Can you please tell me what browser you are using?

I use Chrome. Options are Play, Mute, and Show video URL.

Oh, wait. You are referring to the page? I was right clicking the video. I don't see a direct link for the video there.

Ok. So after painful searching I have found this, but DS does nothing with this...
https://video-dft4-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t42.1790-2/1743131_1409661359318100_1180379571_n.mp4

When the video is playing you can right-click on the video and select 'Copy Video Address' then paste this into the add job dialog in DownloadStudio. It should look similar to https://video-syd1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t42.1790-2/1743131_1409661359318100_1180379571_n.mp4?efg=eyJy bHIiOjg1MSwicmxhIjo0MDk2LCJ2ZW5jb2RlX3RhZyI6ImxlZ2 FjeV9zZCJ9&rl=851&vabr=473&oh=d8c03dd3575029994ac6cd9f272b2466&oe=57CFC521

Well crap. What browser did you use? I don't get that option, still just get "Show video URL", which is the same as I originally posted on this.

I did use the URL you posted into a browser and the video plays, but DS still fails with that link.

Well crap again. Now the link you posted doesn't work in the browser. I suppose it changed due to the video being played again (dynamic link)? That's all I can think of. Maybe that's why DS didn't get it either, because I played it in the browser first.

Hmm. I don't see my last post.

This isn't working. I wonder if the link changes if it is hit again (dynamic link). I got the video to play once in my browser with the link you posted, but DS then wouldn't get it, and it no longer works in the browser.

Other ideas?

Thanks.

The link will have a timestamp that expires after a period of time so that it is no longer valid.
I am using Chrome version 52. I have also disabled flash player in chrome://plugins/

I don't get it. No matter what I try I cannot get the video address that you got.

Please send an email to support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we will send you a patch to help download the video.

By the way, does this patch include all the previous patches I have gotten from you for specific issues?

Thanks.
