Hi,

I have a mezzmo server set up. I can see it on the network. The problem is, after a period of time, it sometimes becomes invisible. If I go to the mezzmo application and stop and restart the server, I can see it again. Any ideas on what the issue may be?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
when you start the Mezzmo server notify messages are sent over the network telling devices about the Mezzmo server, these messages are resent every 30 minutes. If they are not resent within the 30 minutes then the device may remove Mezzmo from the servers list. Devices can also send an M-Search message to the Mezzmo server so that Mezzmo will send a notify message to the device. There are some firewall and router settings that can cause problems with this, please see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/1183-FAQ-Cannot-see-Mezzmo-on-your-DLNA-device for more information.

I don't think it's my firewall, router, or computer settings. As stated in my original post, I can see mezzmo for quite awhile. then it randomly is invisible. After a restart of the server, it is visible again. You have a generic faq on network issues. Unfortunately this does not apply to my situation. Is there anything else you can recommend?

Could it be the Server advertisement interval setting? Mine is set to 86400 secs but not sure if that's the default. Try setting this to ,say, 1800 secs (30mins).

You can try changing the SSDP interval as Tim suggested, see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/6245-FAQ-Change-the-default-SSDP-advertisement-interval. Start with 86400 and if this is no better try a shorter interval at 60 to see if this is better (the shorter value will increase UPnP traffic on your network and may cause congestion).
