View Full Version : 720p wrong aspect ratio(stretched) on Philips TV

Hi,

I have an aspect ratio problem with my Philips TV(model 6877PFL - 2012). Mezzmo shows 1080p mkv movies(transcoded) in the right format(16:9), but 720p(transcoded) is missing the black bars above and below the screen, which stretches the picture vertically.

For 720p movies I've tried to change the aspect on the Philips TV without success, and I've also tried to transcode in the different formats listed when right-clicking formats in the transcoding formats window under device settings.

Why is this happening to 720p movies and not 1080p?

Right-click on one of the OK 1080p transcoded movies in Mezzmo and click 'Properties'. On the Properties dialog, go to the Transcoding tab. Select the transcoded file and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Post that here (or email it to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com). Now do the same for one of the not-OK 720p transcoded movies.

Okay,

For 1080p:

Any suggestions, Paul?

Sorry for the delay. Given you cannot adjust the view modes of your TV, then we can tweak the device profile so that letter box padding is added to transcoded videos so that the videos delivered to the TV are always a supported aspect ratio. Email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com for the tweak. In your email, let us know what device profile you are using for your TV. Go to the Media Devices dialog to check this.

Hi Paul,

To end this thread; the aspect ratio is now working correctly for both 720p and 1080p after replacing with the tweaked device profile!

Thanks!

That's great news :). We'll include the updated Philips TV device profile into the upcoming Mezzmo v5.0.
