I'm currently testing your software and so far I'm impressed by what it can do. I am having some problems with streaming, however. When I stream a 720p movie (mkv), it usually starts fine. But after some time the playback begins to falter. If I pause the playback and wait a few seconds and then press play, it plays smoothly again for a while, usually 2 minutes, until it happens again. Very annoying.

Now I wonder what is causing this. Is my PC not fast enough or is my wireless connection not fast enough? Or could it be a problem with Mezzmo?

Specs:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ (4GB RAM)
Transcoding folder: 50GB of free space (I delete transcoded files after viewing them)
Windows XP SP3
Wireless 300N USB adapter
Sony BDP-S570 (connected with HDMI cable to TV)

What router are you using? Just my quick, unprofessional opinion - the USB wireless adapter is your issue. I tried using Samsung's wireless N USB adapter at my TV end, got lots of stuttering. I knew it worked fine with a wired connection, so I switched to a wireless bridge at my TV, now there's no problem.

If playback is smooth after resuming from a pause, but then begins to stutter again, it's likely that transcoding speed is not fast enough - of course it can also be the wireless, if the bitrates peak at those particular moments.

Please send a message to support (at) conceiva (dot) com as we have an updated device profile for the BDPs that may help you.

What is a wireless bridge?

I have a Panasonic P50V20A 1080P 50" TV HD plasma
-- fitted a Panasonic Wireless LAN adaptor (DY-WL10)
-- specification IEEE802.11a/b/g/n
-- USB 2.0

I have also been experiencing stuttering with a few MKV files (large files)

Mezzmo looks very impressive.
-- The movies start immediately with no buffeting.

I have the same issue but over a wired network. I will be submitting logs tonight for review.

System:
PC: Core i7 CPU, 6GB of Ram, Win 7 Ultimate, tons of disk space
Network: wired Linksys via powerline
Player: Sony BDP 370
Receiver: Pioneer VX 1020
TV: LG 60pk550

Player->receiver->TV connections are all HDMI

I can stream video content from the Internet without stutter or judder (going over the same powerline LAN)

When I stream MKV files of 720p or higher (and AC3 5.1 sound), the playback stutters badly (freeze / drop out every second like clockwork).

I read somewhere that the system transcodes MKV to VOB, so I tried eliminating that step.
I transcoded some MKV files to VOB and then they would not play at all (no playable file found).

Music (even lossless ALAC files) plays without any issues.

Video is VERY spotty.

MP4 in Apple TV format (720p) also does not play at all.

I am using the Sony BDP (NTSC, no divx) device profile.
